Okay, I see yesterday turned into a discussion of mispronounced words. My pet peeves are saying com-para-ble (as it's spelled), instead of  pronouncing it com-pra-ble and saying jew-ler-y (as it's not spelled) instead of correctly pronouncing it jew-el-ry.

I pronounce the g in gnat. Just because.

And a Very Happy Birthday to occasional DR Sandra...aka DD of DR Laura!! :D

These things drive me especially crazy during the month of Feb-you-ary.

I saw a commercial for...something for sale (or an event) last year, and the announcer kept pronouncing it as "Feb-brrr-ary," like "brrr, it's cold out."  He had to say Feb-brrr-ary over and over during the commercial.  I'd never heard that pronunciation before.  It was very strange...funny, but strange.

;)

Wondering how it can possibly take two weeks to read my latest book, but what do I know?  Usually folks like Shayne read it the second it arrives.  Those days are gone.  I do understand that dear reader George is the busiest man in show business.

One of the busiest, at least. ;D

Topic of the Day:  I just finished listening to "The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With the Sea."  It's very nice and calming.

And now for something completely different...the new Broadway cast recording of "The Color Purple."

Expecting seas tonight between 15 and 25 feet.  I guess that sounds a lot worse than  it actually is.

It is still a quiet night afternoon.  It is already getting dark outside.  Not many people up and about.

If you hear Poe intoning "A Descent Into the Maelstrom", get into the nearest helicopter.

My doctor has dropped out of my network.  She referred me to another doctor.  I am still trying to get rid of this $#%% cough.

I called the new doctor to make an appointment and mentioned the referral.  The lady at the office asked me what insurance I had.  After I told her, she told me that the first available appointment with the primary partner would be August 1, and that the first available appointment with the secondary partner would be June 1.

I told her thanks but that I would be dead by then.....there was no response.....so I hung up.

So I guess I am looking for a new doctor.....
