Holy moley.  I need to sit down for a spell after just reading DR Elmore's dreams.

TOD

CD - In the Heights, to better appreciate it when I see a local high school's production next Thursday.  I saw it on Broadway at the end of friend Robin de Jesus' run, and enjoyed it, but retained nothing of its music.  It's time for me to dip my toes further into that water.

DVR - Act One.  I want to basically have this music in my fingers before running off to Ohio.  It's not difficult, but a few of the cues are four-hand pieces and - sadly - I, at last count, have but two.  I'll be working on how best to retain something of their rich sound.   If I use my own keyboard, one or two can be pulled off via some judicious octave programming.  I'd love to set up the others so that I'm literally playing both parts, but I don't think that can be done with what I have.

I am off to face one of my fears today: There is a wonderful mountain nearby with a very rough dirt road. A couple of times a friend has asked me to come along when she drives it. Last time we were there, at The Cliff That Makes Me Very Nervous, we were parked just yards from the Cliff at a wide spot in the road, looking at the birds and such as, when an SUV came zooming along the Cliff, hit the brakes, and rolled completely over, coming to rest about two car-lengths from our vehicle. The 20-something boys seemed ok -- they all got out of the SUV -- but I will be especially nervous at The Cliff That Makes Me Nervous today.

I've been sent the Criterion edition of IN A LONELY PLACE with Humphrey Bogart.

I'll probably be watching that.

I just binged on two hugely satisfying bagels.

Been having this craving, so I ran out to Bagelman, brought back an Everything and a Blueberry (I almost never indulge in that kind of bagel, but I was in a mood, I tell you -- oh yes, a mood).  I lightly toasted both of them, polished off some cream cheese on the Everything and some Irish butter on the Blueberry, and washed them down with a couple of K-cups of dark roast coffee.

I expect to explode within the hour.

I have never gotten into the cruise thing of ordering coffee from room service.

Keith feels the same way even when we have an early tour.

Friday morning greetings!  I'm off to a retirement community on the north side of Cincinnati to meet my friend Becky for a program about downsizing.  They're giving us lunch and, probably, a sales pitch.

More cliff vibes for DR Laura!

Hey, you know what you could try when you're up there?
The ol' Jimmy Stewart in VERTIGO routine:

"I look up, I look down.  I look up, I look..."  (cue dissonant chord)

See?  I am full of helpful suggestions!
