Laundry in the dryers, floors vacuumed, breakfast eaten, bed made, and i am ready for a nap.

I'm listening to Gounod's opera Romeo et Juliette.  Some beautiful stuff in it, but i still think he composes with a pastry tube.

This has been my week for not finding scores.

A voice student at the high school asked me if I could help him find a vocal score to the WAR AND PEACE that the Metropolitan Opera has done.  I've never known anything about it so I "presume" it's Prokofiev's and not some other WAR AND PEACE.  The only thing to be found out there is the Russian full score in three volumes.

Is that the version where they live happily ever after? I saw some opera version of R+J with a happy ending. I hadn't read the program since I knew the plot, and when that happened, I was actually more horrified than happy for the young lovers.

Saturday morning greetings!  Richard and I are off to Oxford, OH, today to see the Miami University synchronized skating team.  Their spring show has a Broadway theme.

We had a lovely time last night at our local arts center attending the opening reception for a quilting and fiber arts exhibit.  Richard bought a wall hanging and I met a retired librarian who grew up here and got her master's in library science at The University of Michigan the year I was a freshman there.  She graduated from Miami the same year as Richard and DR Elmore, but had attended the Catholic high school.  We had a LOT to talk about!

Nope.  They die.  They live in Nicholas Nickleby.

The original ending of Ambroďse Thomas' opera Hamlet saw him crowned King of Denmark.  The finale was revised to Shakespeare's ending for the London premiere and that's now the strandard comclusion to the opera.

JoAnn might have liked that.  Her quilts are really spectacular.

DR Elmore, tell her the exhibit is at the Middletown Arts Center (former AIM Building) until May 26.

Trying to get everything that  sprang out of the suitcase when it was first opened, and now will not fit back in.

Everyone who has a flight tomorrow wanted to do their 24 hour check-in, and the ship's computer has been down this afternoon.

Fortunately, my hotel is connected to the airport in Copenhagen, so I can hopefully check-in in person on Monday.

I suppose I had better go back and try again to get the suitcase to close WITH everything inside the bag!

Maybe it's Diane Paulus' Production of Tolstoy's WAR & PEACE with a new book by Harvey Fierstein and music by Jeanine Tesori and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper......

As opposed to the one with Josh Grobin set for this fall? Sadly, mine is real.

That could be so god-awful it might be worth seeing.
