TOD - in the fall of my senior year, the University of Michigan opened the Power Center for the Performing Arts with the pre-Broadway run of THE GRASS HARP. My friend Doug asked if I wanted an OK seat for the opening night gala or a good seat for some other night. I picked the opening night and rubbed shoulders in the lobby with such luminaries as Helen Hayes, James Earl Jones, and Truman Capote. Our seats were fine, but the show didn't last long in New York.
