My baseball team is not doing very well this year.  Still nice to be at the games, but not like it was when they were breaking records for wins

Yes, that's why I've been watching the news.  The UK not the ball game

I need to get to sleep.  Scotland voted to stay so they may hold another referendum on Scottish independence.  They are also wondering if Northern Ireland will want to unite with Ireland......Wow, lots of changes.

Cilla, how are your folks doing?

About the same.  I went up for Dad's birthday and we had a good time. They don't remember a lot but they are still managing pretty well.  I talk to mom once or twice a day.  The neighbor who has lived across the street from them since 1959 has had a number of strokes over the last week and isn't expected to ever get back home.  She and my mom were close and up until three weeks ago, walked a mile together every day. She was my piano teacher.  She's about mom's age 89.  It's sad, but they've been through this with lots of friends, so it isn't totally unexpected.

I think it's tougher for my sister because she hasn't been around them much over the years.  This hasn't happened over night.  They are doing quite well physically and are in great spirits. So, as long as they aren't having safety issues, they can keep on the way it is.  I'm glad it all was discussed last month, and they told me when they feel they need help in home they will consider it, but not yet.  Since they are doing ok, that makes sense to me.  They have cleaning ladies and someone who takes care of the yard.  They eat out several times a week and mom still does ok cooking.  So, for now, all is ok.

It will get tougher, but for now.....we're sort of on an even keel.  I think they are actually relieved we all discussed it.  One of those things where I think they believed we didn't notice and now that they know we all know they don't have to hide it as much

That's definitely going to change things.
