Well, they're singing the last song, and then "The Bible..." will be done!

We have strike, and some kind of party, then I'm going home.

Until later!

Today's closing of BRIGHT STAR never reached that frenzy, but it sure came close.  This was a bigger, wilder closing than that for FINIAN'S RAINBOW.

As soon as Carmen Cusack walked onstage, the place erupted.  In Act One several numbers got that enthusiastic response: the title song, "Whoa, Mama," and the wonderful "Asheville." Steve Martin joined the band for the Entr'Acte.  The numbers that got the biggest ovations in Act Two were "Heartbreaker," which Paul Alexander Nolan performed really well, "I Had A Vision," and "At Long Last." At the curtain call the audience did not want to leave.  They stayed through the Exit Music.  Steve Martin, Edie Brickell, the choreographer and Walter Bobbie, who was badly snubbed by the tonys since this is his best direction and it's wonderful, all came out for the curtain calls.

I saw Martin Short talking to Walter during the intermission.

Sad to see it close.

Congrats on a successful run!

I went to see "Evita" today at the Olney Theatre in Olney, Maryland.  I enjoyed it.  My friends and I agreed that the standout was Robert Ariza , who played Che.

Thanks to all for the congrats!  I hear some thunder so that is nice.

IT was HOT today during the set building, but we had 11 people there to help us....so it took only 2 hours and 40 minutes.  I should never climb a ladder.....and I need to stay hydrated!

I came home and went to sleep for two hours.

I think the film version of the play that MR BK is going to do may be on television right now.

Am now following on online auction and after having been doing that for a few weeks now there is no doubt in my mind that there is serious hanky panky going on and not just from one front.

DR ELMORE - I believe BRIGHT STAR will have a long and active life after Broadway.

Thanks, Fred!  As it turns, there was no after-strike party. One of the women left right after strike to drive to California with a couple of other people to go to what she called "clown school," even though that's not exactly what it is.  I didn't hear what it really was that they were going to, only that it would take about 8 1/2 hours to drive there.

I went home, dropped off my stuff, emptied the recycling bin, and now am having a Love Salad with teriyaki chicken at the local Happy Teriyaki. :D

Still following the auction.  It's always amusing to watch something that's been at 26.00 for an entire week - it comes up - no one is upping it and the five-second warning issues and in the next ten seconds it goes up to over 200 bucks - shenanigans?  I think so and I'll be talking about it in the notes.

Watching Lucky Stiff. Very fizzy and effortless. Loving the music and all the surprises, such as Juliet Mills in a throwaway role as a secretary and Cheyenne Jackson as a somewhat sleazy nightclub singer. The visuals are also great.
