I did not go to the NYPL. I picked up my meds, and decided I wanted to be home before the rain lands. I'll go there tomorrow morning.

I'm up, I'm up - barely - seven hours of sleep, I think.  Now I must try to be coherent in thirty minutes.

My family always watches either 1776 or Independence Day on or around July 4th.  My uncle and aunt from Germany are back in town after renting a small RV and driving around the southwest for the last 12 days, so I don't know if they'll want to watch either movie.  We'll see.

George I somehow missed your initial post about the hidden treasures... I dated Gorman  Bechard  in  1977 or 1978...

That sounds vaguely familiar.  I've posted about my slides before, so I would assume that you might've mentioned about dating him before.  That's only one degree of separation between him and me...or should that be "he and I"? ;)

Two of our original Appalachian cast have now committed, so two crucial roles are now covered to my satisfaction. Four men, one old maid (soprano) and two children to go!

That's great, Larry!

My one experience driving a truck was renting one of those nineteen dollar jobs from U-Haul to bring some stuff from a storage facility to my house, a distance of three or four miles.

Oy!

I couldn't wait to get it returned to them.

I know!  I've driven those smaller moving vans only a couple of times and I hope I never have to do it again. :P

Happy 100th Birthday to Olivia de Havilland ... who ... yes, is still with us.

My niece, who is a fan, posted on FB about her birthday, too.

Just found out I'm seeing a friend's DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS tonight.  She a regional director who I haven't seen in over ten years, so it will be great to catch up.  I don't recall her doing musicals before, but a couple of other people I know are involved in this so it should be a fun evening.

I hope it's good, ChasSmith.  I really like the Broadway cast recording.

I have to meet a friend for lunch tomorrow in Olympia.  Why did I rather stupidly agree to drive on the freeway at the start of the July 4 traffic jam?

Are you referring to the 10:00 brunch ;D

Two dates that I remember specifically were seeing Dan Fogelberg at Carnegie Hall and Joe Jackson at the Bottom Line

We saw Dan Fogelberg at the Britt in Jacksonville, near Ashland.  He was great.

Just spent two hours getting L.A. Now and Then's CD on Amazon and CD Baby (only digital for CD Baby - and they get it to all other digital partners like iTunes).  The CD Baby thing took the most time since you have to upload the tracks and I had to convert all of those into WAV files, plus for each track you have to enter writer/publisher info so it takes a lot of time.

And we're in Middletown, but not quite home.  After our lovely lunch in Berea, KY, Richard called our doctor's office to get an appointment for his cough & chest congestion and they asked if he could be here at 4:15.  Even with horrendous traffic in Cincinnati, we got here with 15 minutes to spare.

I went to a new doctor today, whom I liked very much and as a great understanding of my genetic risks.  The visit summary is already on the computer.  I have to laugh at this comment in my records...

"General:  Alert, oriented, well-groomed woman in no apparent distress."

I had jeans and a t-shirt on the chair and was wearing the very nice poncho I was given.  I suppose that makes me well dressed ;D

Yes, DR Jane.  The cough was kind of what started the problems in Orlando.  He walked to Walgreen's for cough medicine last Friday in 100 degree heat and that's when the double vision started.  Might be unrelated but he's still coughing and he wanted our primary care physician to know about the ER visit, too.  He called today for an appointment tomorrow, but they were able to see him today.
