Where is everyone?

I'm invoicing.  Today is the cut-off for this month and I need to get these darned things done. :P

As I enter all the invoice information, I'm listening to the TV version of Ain't Misbehavin'. :D

Cilla seems to have left the building - I suspect she may be gone until the election is over.  Hope I'm wrong about that.

She just posted something on Facebook to the effect of I'm a Trump supporter and I can post anything pro-Trump I want here, but if you post any opposition, I will delete it.

So I unfriended her. I hated to do it.

As to politics, let's just leave that to Facebook and its pundits.

But I'm always amused by people on Facebook who say "this is MY page."  I don't think they really get Facebook.  Nothing is "yours" on Facebook and if you think it is, think again.  This jernt is more yours than anything on Facebook.  We don't gather your information, we don't put ads in between your posts, we don't allow trolls.

Just waiting for final confirmation regarding the show date, but it looks like we have Hal Linden for the ALS benefit.

We have Texas Toast in the Frozen Section of our grocery store....we have it now and then.

The Texas toast in the frozen section here is really garlic bread.  This is a full loafof fresh bread but it is cut double thick and it makes the best toast

It was Lady Macbeth, friendly and chatty as though she and he hadn't essentially told me t go fuck myself nine years ago.
Interesting.

There's something going on. I think she was pumping me for information about my dad's property.

Well, I hope it is something good for a change.

Why not just unfollow during the election?  She does that.

I/we have been doing a lot of walking.  Today I totaled at least 14 1/2 miles.  I broke it up into 3 walks.

If there was some way to block the words "Trump," "Hillary," and "Clinton" on Facebook, I'd sure like to know how.

Question for DR JohnG.:

One of the other regular hikers I see sometimes is going to bring me some nopalitos tomorrow. He said they will already be boiled. Do you have a suggestion of what to do with them? My daughter is vegetarian, but if it can be fixed without meat, she'll try it.

Today on my hike, a coyote howled. Immediately all the others in the area answered. I rarely see coyotes there, but, holy cow, there were LOTS of them around. They weren't very far away, either. And I couldn't see a single one.

Since we can't discuss politics, I have little more to say.

Except that people can't talk to one another any more. I can't talk to my cousin because her views aren't based on facts. If you point out that her information is incorrect, she doesn't care. Her views are all based on her emotions (read prejudices). I like my cousin. I've always had to avoid politics with her, but I truly question whether we can get through the next few months without it coming up. The discussion of politics is like a giant landmine. How do you sidestep something so big? I fear that many friendships will be damaged.

BK, Don Oliver of Chelsea Music just called me.  He's working on a Broadway night benefit for the Orlando victims, and he was listening to Unsung Sondheim today for the first time in years.  He wanted to tell me how much he enjoyed it, so we talked about it and you a little bit.

I hope some work comes your way as a result. And it's always nice to feel appreciated.

Be back later.

You can't make your own toast? It has to be purchased frozen?

"They haven't been as careful keeping up payments and things they way they should."

That's often your first clue.  You have my heartiest vibes as you paddle into these waters.

Thank you, Ginny.

That is a wonderful recording. And that is a good reminder to take it out and play it again.

I quite like nopalitos. Here's a quick saute recipe.
