Well, you've read the notes, the notes were very late, and now it is time for you to post until the very late cows come home.

TOD:  I find listening to "You Raise Me Up" seems to make me feel inspired when I hear it.  That may also be because it brings to mind the spirit of the concert where Josh Groban sang it and everyone in the audience was standing with those lighters waving them back and forth.  it was very exciting at the event, and hearing the song brings it back.

TOD (continued):  And on a less dramatic note, the Mel Brooks number "Hope for the Best, Expect the Worst" somehow actually  inspires me to keep hopes up even when things are bad, especially the part where they sing "Live while you're alive!" suggesting we're all in this seemingly unfair world together.

This post is coming to you, live, from the Pequot Library in beautiful downtown Southport, Connecticut, where I arrived an hour and fifteen minutes early before the opening of the starting gate.  And there are only a dozen people ahead of me in line.  This is unprecedented.

I wonder if there were long lines for the restrooms at the play last night.

Well, fortunately, we're standing and sitting in lovely shade here in this distinguished old neighborhood.  It's going to be brutal today.

Also, I'm parked right outside the library, which is wonderful.  Life is good sometimes.  Which is nice because yesterday was awful.  So many little things were going wrong that I wondered what was up with the planets.

Okay, enough from me.

At home later I'm working on GYPSY, and tonight I see TITLE OF SHOW.  And that's my day.

Just took some photographic evidence which I'll post from home.  I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to manage that from this phone.

TOD:

The obvious choices are "God Bless America" and other songs of that sort.

The first song that comes to mind from a show is "Half the Battle" from BEN FRANKLIN IN PARIS.

I slept quite late.  Around 1:00 AM, I woke from a terrifying dream that took me some time yo settle down and turn out the lights.  IU remember none of the particulars now, but a great dea; pf the dream was about the Ray Bradbury story "The October Game":
the witch is dead and this is her head . . .

My last dream was in the dressing room of Angela Lansbury, who was appearing in a revival of Sweeney Todd.  I was running an errand that involved my leaving something at the stage door for her and the doorman had sent me up to her dressing room, where I saw posted on the wall a letter from a friend of mine now living in LA. I ran into her on Broadway, and asked her if I could have his address.  She invited me back to copy it. There was also something about a bag of coins I was taking to the bank spilling all over the floor and other cast members helping me collect them.

I have no real plans for the day, but I may go to the Lincoln Center library.  There's a display on Mozart's  The Magic Flute that was created by Jean Druesedow, for wgom I was a graduate assistant, 1968-1970.

Saturday morning greetings!  Yesterday was a pretty intense Project Mom day, so I drank 2 glasses of wine before I went to bed.  That knocked me out for about 3 hours, but I was awake from 2-4am.  I'm taking it easy today until it's time for us to leave to pick up Mary Linda at the airport.  She returns from London this evening and Rob is at a training session on Ohio's north coast (Lake Erie).

Ginny, you had a typical night of sleep for me, if I can fall right to sleep.  Often I wake up in half an hour to an hour.
