The good news this morning is that my colleague on GUYS & DOLLS is bringing me the next edit of Act one this afternoon when I'm back from rehearsal.

Have a great trip, Kevin!

I spent most of yesterday doing a heart stress test.

Actually, I had to do it twice.  I get winded easily, which was the reason for the test.  I couldn't stay on the treadmill long enough to get a reading, so then they decided to give me a chemical stress test, which was not fun.

Good test result vibes!

Last night when I said I was crashing  I did so immediately after my last post, and I stayed asleep.  That was a rare event for me.  Still, 6:30 was earlier than I wanted to wake up.

TOD:

I don't remember what it was called or even anything about the story, but it took place in the Middle Ages. And the villain sang a song called "I'm a middle-aged woman in the Middle Ages." It was supposed to be a musical comedy, but most of it wasn't very funny - just really silly.

Apropos of nothing except that I said I'd take a few, here's some photographic evidence of last week's book sale at the Pequot Library in Southport in the Nutmeg/Constitution State.

I think you can click to enlarge most of these.

Nice selection of sheet music there, and though I've never really collected it as such, I couldn't resist picking up a few representative samples for the cover art.

The colors are washed out in the photo, but that early FINIAN'S RAINBOW is a favorite.

That isn't all I bought, just all I snapped pics of to share with you lovely people.  Haven't done it in years, but a decade or so ago when I was REALLY going to a lot of tag (yard) sales, estate sales, and library sales, I'd photograph each day's take.  It's a nice memento.

Jekyll and Hyde comes to mind

I saw the pre-Broadway tour in Seattle and it was riveting.  The video was so different.  They made so many changes and none were improvements...and The Hoff was just so wrong.

Why am I up at three in the morning.  Well, I was going to bed at one-thirty when the new master of our next release posted to Dropbox - so I had to listen.  I was very happy with the one that was difficult (there are two scores on one CD) except I felt the level was too low.  I e-mailed that, and within minutes I had a new version of those tracks and it was better, although I'll listen with fresh ears today at some point - but the louder level helps give it some punch.  This score was taken from acetates and the guy did a really good job as he has on other acetate transfers - it's never going to sound like tape, but this music is so great it's just wonderful to have it cleaned up and sounding as good as it's ever going to sound.

Can't wait to hear it...or find out what it is.

Today's fresh hell:  at 11:00am yesterday, someone whose email address is jimhench9@gmail.com used my`debit card to charge a $500 Nieman Marcus gift card.  I just spoke to the bank and the debit card is DOA.  They gave me the Nieman Marcus number, and a wonderful lady gave me the email address of the purchaser, the order information, and canceled  the order.

What's interesting about all of this is that the card name was "Larry Moore," which is not the name on the card.  The only account I have that uses this name is with Amazon.com. Could the gmail possessor be an Amazon employee?

Oh, my goodness!  At least the order was cancelled, so that's good.
