One of the most interesting threads ever on Home Theater Forum (and there have been some notable ones) currently involves a person who claims to own full rights to a very desirable bunch of 1950s sci-fi films, and he has possession of most, if not all, of the most important elements (negatives, prints, etc.). The community at large is enjoying a rare conversation with this guy, including BK who has put up some wonderfully calm, lucid and eloquent rebuttals. And BK is not alone, as the thread is attracting others, one of whom has allegedly won a court decision regarding one of the prime titles, and ... well, it's like watching some really good drama leading up to the courtroom scene. Or just an eventual shutdown of the thread if it gets rowdy, who knows. But it's been oddly civil so far, and I would hope that doesn't happen.
And I apologize that the above paragraph is shorthand for what's going on, so don't feel silly if you have no idea what in the HELL I could be talking about. I just wanted to acknowledge a most interesting event in an area some of us care a lot about.
