Topic of the Day: I haven't met a lot of celebrities, but the ones that I have met have pretty much all been interesting:
Of course, our very own
BK, and his writing partner
David Wechter, when they came to Olympia to see TAO's production of THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X.
Jarrod Emick, he was cast in and as SWEENEY TODD at Capital Playhouse. It was a very interesting (but good) production. I got to chat with him after the show and
he autographed my CD of DAMN YANKEES that I brought to be autographed.
Frank Ferrante, he performed the show GROUCHO: A LIFE IN REVUE here in Olympia and had what was supposed to be a "comedy workshop" earlier in the day, and I went to the workshop. It was essentially just five people sitting around and chatting with Frank. It was a lot of fun.
The Manhattan Transfer performed in Olympia! I just briefly met Janis Siegel and Alan Paul, chatted a bit with Tim Hauser, but I got to chat the longest with Cheryl Bentyne twice, once then in Olympia and once in Seattle a few years before that at her solo show at The Triple Door.
Marin Mazzie in London, England after seeing KISS ME, KATE! Brent Barrett was in that production, but he never came to the stage door.
Diane Schuur, jazz singer, when I was in college.
Otherwise, I've just been introduced to celebrities such as Betty Buckley, Patti LuPone, Bernadette Peters, Regis Philbin...I'm sure that there have been more, but those are the ones that I can remember.
