It's been a most uneventful day.

And thanks to allergies, I plan to take a Benedryl shortly and sleep a lot more.

There was a PBS fundraiser tonight and we tried to watch a little of the Carol Burnett special that was on.

I know understand why Elmore can't stand those things and curses them every time. They showed two clips and then 20 minutes of begging. We watched more than a half hour and those two clips -- Went With the Wind and Sunset Boulevard -- were all we saw. We couldn't take anymore.

I made it to Half Price Books yesterday. Got a book of Willa Cather short stories and a book of Hawthorne short stories as well as the DVDs of Mr. and Mrs. Bridge and the Italian film Bitter Rice. All for under $20.

Went out for lunch with Mom and Dad and afterward we went walking around Half Price Books, so it was two visits in one day.

Come for The Brain on November 7.  When we opened the show back on my birthday in 2006 we had a real haineshisway.com get-together here -

Oh believe me, wouldn't I love to head out there for that.  Don't know how possible it is, but something to think about.

Anyone else thinking along these lines?

My favorite Carol Burnett sketch is "Went With The Wind."

It is funny, I remember a lot of what I saw on Ed Sullivan, but I don't remember anything about "The Hollywood Palace."

But when my mom was home and my grandmother was up, I think it was usually "The Hollywood Palace"

Of course, Saturdays my grandmother usually watched in her room, because she was the only one who wanted to see Lawrence Welk.

I also remember a show that I loved, but I think it was only on one summer(?).
