TOD

Don't have a favorite but I can watch any because I love the cheesy special effects that only Japanese Monster films can do.

I'll second that. I used to watch them every Saturday afternoon. Cheesy fun.

Thursday morning greetings!  Nothing planned for today and we even have leftovers both for lunch and dinner, so I don't have to think much about meals.  Have to do some work on the AAUW website and, maybe, I'll get to play at my art desk for a while.

Thursday.....today is the Opening of THE ODD COUPLE, THE FEMALE VERSION, our closing show of the season.  I will be selling tickets at 5 p.m., working concessions/tickets until the curtain goes up, working concessions during intermission, and then cleaning up!

I hope we only have a small audience, and that they are not very messy. Of course thunderstorms are predicted for the entire evening!

I thought I had MR BK's GODZILLA cd, but it turns out to be something else: The Best of Godzilla.....produced on Crescendo Records, whatever that is.

I do have the SUPERMAN and TITANIC cd's which I bought long before I began posting here.....excellent CD's that get a LOT of play around these here parts.

TOD:

Godzilla - original and U.S. version

Mothra
Rodan
The Mysterians

Many of the films produced in 1990's were also a lot of fun....probably my favorite is Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah....Godzilla vs. Mothra The Battle for Earth....and Godzilla vs. Mechgodzilla 1974 and 1993.

I have the Titanic CD and I THINK I have the Godzilla one under the Monster Mania name, but I know I don't have the Superman one.

TOD:

I never kept up with the Japanese monster flicks, being much more into horror and U.S. sci-fi back in the day, but I finally grew to appreciate the earlier Godzilla films, Mothra, and Rodan.

TCB, to answer your question from last night:  I bought the Spanish Blu-ray of "Bells Are Ringing" because as far as I've been able to find (at least on Amazon.com), it's the only Blu-ray available anywhere.  It's not yet been released on Blu-ray in the US.

do they have the cut numbers Is It A Crime and My Guiding Star on the Blu Ray?

There are two cut songs in the bonus section.  One is "Is It a Crime," which has some color problems, but I don't specifically remember the second song.  It could be "My Guiding Star."  Would there be any other?  I'll check when I get home.

Today I'm picking up a couple of lobby cards I had framed, which will be nice.

Later, a gentleman caller or two will be delivering and installing a replacement microwave oven.  The one it's replacing is but four and a half years old, but its handle has little by little disintegrated because of the cheap plastic parts used in most appliances these days.  Of course it's long out of warranty.  These companies should be completely embarrassed by what they're putting out.  But of course they aren't.  You just bought a new one.  What's not to like about that.  Right?

It's called "planned obsolescence." :P

What a great number....thanks for sharing DR GEORGE.

I love the cast recordings from the 1980s (I've never seen the show), but if you search YouTube for earlier versions of that song, you'll hear the historically accurate but racially offensive original lyrics (one specific word has been changed from the original). :-\

Thank you to DRs TCB and Jane for yesterday's eye vibes for Richard and birthday wishes for Rob.  The "Baskin Robbins" birthday was very well-received.  And we can do it again in a year and a half when Mary Linda reaches the same milestone!
