Does anyone know what this is?  It's "something" going to or from a stereo jack.  The white piece of paper is covering an adhesive pad, so it must be intended to be mounted permanently.

I'm always finding these THINGS that obviously came WITH something. 

I kept one such mystery item for several years before deciding that if I hadn't found a need for it in all that time, out it goes.  Thankfully, that was a couple of years ago and no such need ever turned up.

Yes, it reminds me of those sunction-cup phone pickups from days of yore.  The thing I'm stumped about is the adhesive, which looks like it's meant to be stuck to something permanently.

Maybe tomorrow I'll try just holding it to something and see if it records.

I did finish Swann's Way tonight, Ready to start on volume two. I have two translations, however, so the question becomes: Which should I read: Within a Budding Grove or In the Shadow of Young Girls in Flower. The first is more poetic, the second more vulgar.
