Mission accomplished.  On my way out the workers gave me this sticker.  I stole Rob Berman's photo,

That is a nice sticker.

"The Brain from Planet X" was wonderful last night! It was just as funny as I remembered it, and yes, the audience roared for much of it (including Richard Sherman who was sitting behind me). Poor Mark, is the shyest man on the planet and really can't stand to have anyone looking at him or talking to him, so he was absolutely the worst person to be pulled up on stage for the brain tap, but he was a huge sport. When asked, "What's the Earth's greatest achievement?" he answered with "This show." And when asked where he went to college, he answered "LACC". He never went to LACC, but that's just how fast and clever a thinker he is. Anyway, the cast was wonderful - it was so nice to hear and see Alet Taylor again after so many years. And of the three General Mills I've seen, this General Mills was my favorite. The whole show was a grand success.

Thanks for the show report and goddess for Mark 😃

The little one has been dropped off at the vet to be neutered and the big one will go to camp as scheduled today without his little bro.

I'll vote later after work and tonight will head to San Jose to see the national tour of The Sound of Music - which I saw this summer with my cousin Jeremy as Fredrich. He has since grown out the role and has moved on, but while I was fortunate to see him while I was visiting Chicago last June.  It's a good tour, very well directed, etc.  I'm looking forward to seeing it again.  Jack O'Brian stayed pretty true to the original with some tweaks in the wedding scene, and a different set of lyrics for "Something Good" - I'm not sure where they came from.  My point is, he didn't try and put the movie on stage which I was thankful for.

I hope the tour has held up since June!!

HHW GET-TOGETHER ALERT

I know it's early to plan for April - but I'm trying to schedule a day for an HHW NYC get-together while Matthew is in town in April (assuming nothing changes there.)

The possible dates are Tuesday April 18 or Wednesday April 19 if folks who can get to Manhattan (most likely midtown, but if no one minds, HHW-ers seems to really like Artie's Deli as a place to eat on the upper West side) on a weekday or really early weeknight can very tentatively plan.

I am home from City Center.  Joshie scanned some music for me, we dished, and I came home.  He's doing Titanic for the Signature Theatre, and he needs time to work on the orchestration with my distracting him.  Rob Berman stopped by on his way to auditions, so that was fun.

Got on the voting line at 5:50, the polls were ready for us by about 6:05.  The line looked twisted around and horrendous, but in the voting area, it went very efficinently and to my surprise, I'm pretty sure we were done voting by 6:20.

That sounds pretty good. I saw someone say they voted early (on the weekend) and it was 3+ hours. Sorry but to me that is ridiculous. I have never waited more than 5 minutes to vote.  Obviously I would wait if I had to. But that sounds way too long.

Those dates in April should hopefully be fine for me.  The middle of the week, in fact, is a good thing around then.

The parking lot at the school where I vote was filled way beyond capacity.  I parked on the street (it's all residential) a block away and walked.  I was in and out of the school itself in twenty minutes.

I've always avoided the busy times of day, every place I've lived, so I do wonder what the jernt is like at the busy times!

I'm up, I'm up - was up at eight for about an hour, then fell back asleep.  I probably got seven hours of sleep - was surprised I could sleep at all, frankly.

Mark was a good sport - he actually was the only male sitting that we could get to easily, unless I took the guy in front of him and while I knew the guy in front of him who would probably have been okay, he's a pro comedy writer and it's not as funny when people try to BE funny - Mark was the perfect mark.

Today may be Election Day, but it is also the birthday of Bram Stoker, author of DRACULA.

The fact that both events are falling on the same day is pure coincidence and I'm almost sure that the one event does not foreshadow in a negative way the other.  (Fingers crossed)

Got to go swimming in the Mediterranean today for the first time since high school. What fun. The water was cold but it felt good after a while.

I wasn't buying it st first but a friend from Switzerland, Manuela, kept telling me it was okay.

Manuela: It's refreshing!

Me: Gin is refreshing. This is just cold.

Since Washington state is by mail-in ballot only, there's no waiting in line anymore.

I like it when there are more voters than usual.

If more than 100,000,000 votes are cast, that will be extraordinary.

Although I voted three weeks ago by absentee ballot, I am still jiggy with all my choices.

I voted my heart, my conscience and retained my self-respect.

That all I can do.

It will be odd to go to bed tonight before the polls over there close.

I hope I can sleep. The suspense is eating Carol up.

Me, I'd just like to get another 20 pages or so of the latest volume of Proust read. That way I'd be a tenth of the way into it. That's usually a good start for me on a book.

This one is 600 pages long.

My first 2016 holiday caramel corn is in the oven and the aroma is driving the upstairs Palmers crazy.  Mary Linda is telecommuting today and Rob has the day off.  They went to vote about an hour ago.
