I first met BK at the Culver City Rollerdrome. My friend Jan and I were there skating. Bruce skated up to me and asked for my phone number. No introduction, no preamble, nada. Very direct. I was a bit stunned, but I gave it to him.

One of the things I like about the show is that it ISN'T about a rich and powerful family and their perfect lives. So many family secrets! So much that you wouldn't guess. And lots of twists and turns. I also never gave much thought to life in 1950s Australia, but lots of changes were taking place in the postwar years. It gives me a perspective on history that I didn't have before.

I'm home. The performance has been cancelled. We're going to change next Thursday's regular show to the PWYC performance. No tickets had been sold, so we're able to do that.

This morning while walking in the cold I sent Keith a text. Since I had to take my gloves off to do so I made it as short as possible, typing u instead of you. I wrote "What time will u be home". It seems my phone decided to correct my grammar and sent Keith the message "What time will I be home".

Picked up the other two packages, replaced the dead light bulbs in the front of the house, and have been listening to this latest set of Sibelius on his and my birthday. The conductor is Kurt Sanderling and the orchestra is a German one. I've gotten through symphony one which I thought was a very fine performance compared to the others I like - sound is a bit muffled for my taste but we'll see how the other symphonies fare. But the orchestra plays wonderfully and I like Mr. Sanderling's way with the first.

Still caught up on "liking" birthday wishes - close to 800 now! Go know. 700 are surely from folks I've never met, but I do enjoy the ones that say they're fans of this or that and that I've brought some sort of happiness to their lives. I cannot tell you how that warms my sixty-nine year old heart.
