Well, you've read the notes, the notes were winding down, and now it is time for you to post until the winding down cows come home.

T.O.D.

The high points were probably the artistic achievements.  On stage, both SECOND SAMUEL and IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE were positive experiences. WRECKS was a great time that I would love to repeat in a new venue.  And working on my first novel has been a very joyful adventure.

The low point of the year was undoubtedly my great nephew's auto accident and the continued fallout from that tragedy.

Of course, the other high point of the year is coming here to H.H.W. on a daily basis and sharing the joys and experiences with all of my friends.  Thank you, BK!

TOD:

A few highlights of the year would be the trip to Crete, the month spent with Mom and Dad, and getting through the first half of Proust, which had been a resolution of mine for several New Years past.

im trying hard not to think of low points too often. I end up with too much hate.

Let's say losing my dear friend, Glenn, and then having his wife, Mickey, move out of town are at the top. My Dad's health scare. A sense of aimlessness.

Just spent an hour shovel-scraping an inch of slush to make a path down the driveway.  We're very very lucky we got barely an inch of snow last night, and that the rain this morning wasn't a freezing one.  Very lucky indeed.  The final bit of luck will be the temperature reaching 45 or 46 like they say it will, and nature taking care of the rest.

I never knew a year with higher highs and lower lows.  I got through it okay, personally, could have done better in some respects.  I need to move on from it, and vow to focus my concentration on simply making 2017 the best it can be for me and for those around me.

TOD:

Highlights:

1. Hired to film an on-camera interview for the UK Blu-Ray of THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES (Basil Rathbone).  Unfortunately the disc won't play on USA machines.

2. Added 2 more plays to THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS Collection: ROBINSON & RAFT and THE LAST MONSTERS.  Both are selling well.

3. Successful book signing Burbank, CA this past April for MURDER IN BABYLON.

4. Received the largest quarterly royalty check ever paid by BearManor Media for my book, MISS DINAH SHORE.

Lowlights:

1. Medical issues for wife Sandy and myself.

2. The death of longtime friends, including one today.

 :(

My life has been so low since August 2013 that any extra money or invitation to an event is a high point.  This year I've been lucky that work has picked up, although the cash flow is way to sporadic, and that I'm still here.

The low point? The election, its complete decline in class or honesty and the GOP's tacet encouragement of racism, zenophobia, misogyny, homophobia, and violence.

Tonight, the cast of Bright Star is performing at Town Hall, and I look forward to it immensely.  I've been invited to the pary after, but I'm not sire I'll attend.  I'll see how my leg is reacting to the Town Hall seats.  Diana Montague is going to tonight's opening of Verdi's Nabucco at the Met, so I will see her later this week.

I've got to finish putting these Fred Waring Pennsylvanians parts for the Drinking Song back into full score today before I can begin "Where Have You Been?"

We are gearing up for a fun weekend celebrating Mary Linda's graduation (Friday) from Miami University with her MBA.  Her parents and grandparents are coming from Michigan and her sister is coming from Cleveland for the festivities.

TOD - I'm having trouble finding many "highs" from 2016.  Mom's situation is so depressing that there's a cloud over almost everything I do.  I try to distract myself with family and friends, for whom I am very grateful.

Correction - Richard just rescheduled Friday's medical appointment to next week because it conflicted with the graduation brunch that will be at our house that morning.

I shall have to consider the TOD.....like so many others, I can list a lot of low points.....but I have to really think to find a high spot....I'm sure they are there.
