Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

Speaking of buying: We'll have signed copies of Kay Cole's CD for the first 100 orders - if you want to get a jump on that, as I think they'll go quickly, you know what to do - just be sure to put the CD title in the invoice - the album is called Kay Cole - Souvenir.

This has kind of been almost a completely annoying day and I'm ready for it to STOP.  One damn annoyance after another - someone filed a Paypal claim because they hadn't received The Gang's All Here, which isn't, of course, slated to even ship until mid-January (it's shipping today).  I sent him an e-mail and he quickly closed the claim, but it was really irritating.  And on the heels of that I get a call from Paypal telling me their compliance department, whatever THAT is, can't verify my account address.  Really?  The same verified address that's been there since the week Paypal began?  That address?  I gather this has to do with these stupid algorithms that are all the damn rage - they should be flushed down the toilet because, guess what - they do not WORK.  So, I had to send them something with the address and still it will take forty-eight hours for them to stop with the annoying pop-ups that now appear when I log on.  Infuriating.  Add to that a completely irritating and unnecessary e-mail (it's Christmas, oh retarded e-mail sender), well, be gone irritants.

On the other hand I picked up some packages and that always means there's new music to listen to.  I was especially interested to hear this 1956 Kurt Sanderling recording of Rachmaninov symphony two - a legendary recording in mono - it's just as good as everyone said (except the two "experts" on Amazon who thought it was overrated - note to experts: You're overrated), beautifully conducted and played and if it were in stereo it would rise right to the top of the pile.  The mono is good but there is a bit of distortion in the loudest bits.

Then I have a Leinsdorf second to hear - the LA Philharmonic circa 1960.  It will have the cuts, but I like Mr. Leinsdorf.

Actually, Leinsdorf conducted the piano concerto with Leonard Pennario that's the filler on the disc.  Alfred Wallenstein conducted they symphony and it's pretty terrific.

BK, can the people who are getting CDs through the Indiegogo campaign get an autographed CD?

And on that note (C-natural), I'm off.  I'm ushering tonight at the Community Messiah Sing-Along.  Vocal scores will be sold in the lobby for anyone who doesn't already have one of their own.  The audience will be sitting in their vocal sections and people can either sing or not.  You can just enjoy the music.  It's pretty fun.

Be back later.

Yes, we'll get signed copies to the Indiegogo folks - but you'll have to send me a PM about it after we announce.

TOD:  I'm not sure I saw anything new this year.  No TV shows.  I know I went to the movies a couple of times but can't recall what I saw.  Shows you what an impact they had on me.

The free song this week on BWayTunes is a mashup of We Need a Little Christmas and Be a Santa. It's performed by the U.S. Air Force Band & Singing Sergeants.

PAIN-BEGONE VIBES to TCB!!

Do you have some sort of stretching program? I find it quite helpful, but not 100%, of course.

Well, knock me over!  I opened a drawer of DVDs that I've opened many times during my search and there was long lost BBC War & Peace set!

I blame the poltergeist.

To my knowledge, my apartment isn't haunted, so how do I explain all that I've mislaid?

I'm surprised at San Antonio's cold nights. What are your daytime highs, John G?

Our nights have been quite cold, too--low 40s-- but not as low as yours.
