New Year's morning greetings! Fr. Richard was asked Friday evening to perform today's service at the church in Dayton, due to a tragedy in the associate pastor's family. He should be about halfway through it now and I hope it's going well.

This morning I began my first book of the year, "The Girl from The Savoy" by Hazel Gaynor.

I just signed up for the Goodreads book challenge, fewer books than I have previously challenged myself to but more than I read the last couple of years. The challenge lets you know if you are on track to reaching your goal, so far....

They started their January can can sale at the local market today. All store brand canned vegetables only 34 cents a can if bought by the case (12 cans). I was able to get 6 cases for the church food pantry for just over $28.

Then I went to church where we had a lovely service
