I was pleased to see TCB's post last night that his eye is more comfortable now. the procedure sounded awful! Tom, was it worse that the cataract surgery?

DR John is there anyway you can get the recipe for the incredible Old Fashioned I had?  I would like to compare it to Craig's recipe.  I should tell him about the trick to dissolve the sugar cube.

I can message Chris from the bar. I think one of the differences, however, is that it was aged in an oak barrel for a few months.

Larry -

Well, if someone is a totally nice guy before marrying "Lady Macbeth," and became a "Macbeth" after marrying her, you can figure that more likely than not there's a connection.

How do I know my brother was ever a "nice guy"?  I do think Lady M and he have enabled each other's ugliest traits, but I won't speculate beyond that.  He's got hatred and resentments toward me that go back for some time.

My sympathies, DR Jeanne. I was thinking about having a See's candy (I got a box for Christmas). I will have one in his honor.

And I hope you're feeling better soon.

So, here are Kathy and I this afternoon at Langan's.  I've known her since 1973 or so.  She looks so much like her mother.

What a nice photo! I'm glad you were able to visit.

It wasn't long enough  because I have so much to accomplish before Thursday's orchestra reading, but we had so much catching up to do.  she and John now have three grandchildren and two married daughters, and I wanted to hear how my ex sister-in-law is doing.  John gave me his impression of Lady M, since they have now crossed paths at several family events.  We have similar views on her charm.

I found an incredible deal on amazon for one of those lightweight Tommy Hilfiger coats that allow absolutely no cold in. It is likely the warmest coat I've ever found and it was marked down from $195 to $38 for one-day only. I shared the sale with a couple of people who didn't buy it on that day. Now that I've got the coat they want me to find it on sale for them.

Then I received a call that an old friend passed away. Sigh. He had SIX strokes last summer and I don't know how he held on as long as he did. As it happens, my last communication with him was the box of See's candy that I sent him for Christmas. I think there are worse ways to say goodbye. He could no longer speak, so we couldn't talk. He was still able to eat and I was told that he really enjoyed the See's.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend, Jeanne.

Now I want a cocktail.

Tonight on HBO is the premiere of the documentary featuring Carrie and Debbie.....

I set my DVR to record it.

Now that credits have started rolling, I see that 10 Cloverfield Lane was co-written by the man who wrote and directed La La Land.

I've been watching the last of Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper's New Year's Eve broadcast.  I can now delete it from my DVR.

And now, I need to go now.  I have to shower, get dressed, do some shopping, get some food, then go to the theater.  I know some tickets have sold, so there will be at least some people in the audince.  I'm sure that we'll get some walk-up business, too.  Then, it'll finally be done...then on to the next show!

Have a good rest of the day, all!

I met my friends Kathy and John this afternoon for a smackerel,  Today is her birthday and she and John flew in from Columbus.  I last saw them around 2001.  Kathy's sister Carolyn was my brother Macbeth's first wife, 1973-1984. She was in my summer produyion of The Apple Tree in 1978.

Now I'm ready to dry off and nap.  Walking in the snow on a bad leg is really exhausting.

Would life be better for you if he had stayed married to his first wife?

I was wondering that also.  Was he a Macbeth before the second wife?

(In my family, my brother's wife seems to have been the awful influence over my brother.  I never saw any indication in my brother of the horrible behavior before his wife started exerting her influence.)

Sorry about that DR FJL.

Thanks, Jane.

It's been very disruptive to our family.

I can imagine, and am sure it hurts too.
