Kathy says she will see if she has any photos from The Apple Tree of 1978.  I hope so, since i have only one.  Even the ever-reliable DR Ginny failed me on this one!

Sorry, DR Elmore!  I hope Kathy has some photos.  I've enjoyed hearing about your visit with her and John.  Did I know him?

No. He and Kathy dated after I moved to Manhattan. I didn't meet him until they came to New York to visit.

The batteries in both of my watches are dead.  On my way back from City Cente this afternoon, I will stop at the 86th Street jeweler and take care of this.  I hope the jeweler's open today.

If not, I'll check their hours, go to the market, and stop back tomorrow.

Here's the other photo from my smackerel with Kathy and John yesterday.  In the early 1980s John worked for my dad's company while he was finishing school.

Very nice.

It supposedly has gone up to 32 degrees here, but I don't believe it. I feel more like Cratchit wanting another coal for the fire.

LOL.  It is 31 degrees here before the wind chill factor.  We are staying in.  I just left a message at my dentist saying we are iced in.  I think attempting to get to an 8:30 appointment is not wise.

Futzed and finessed and made a ton of little changes and added quite a bit - three pages of additions, so I've written three pages today, and will now print out all the pages up to that point for Muse Margaret.  I'll get them Xeroxed and to her, then I'll eat, come home and write another five pages or so, then the rest this evening.

It made it to 49. But the wind is less kind.

It has been convenient having a jewelry department in our local market, Fred Meyer.  They have been great for repairs and batteries.  The jeweler did a beautiful job of making Keith's wedding ring smaller, without messing up the engraving.  Now he wears his ring again :)

Rob and Mary Linda's wedding rings are from Fred Meyer, which is in a Kroger Marketplace in suburban Cincinnati.  Rob felt funny going to a grocery store for that major purchase, but they've been very pleased with the products and the service.

I realized it was a Kroger store when I noticed all the Kroger products.

Our friends from L.A. were amazed at the size of our Fred Meyer.  Having lived on the east coast I guess I am use to large supermarkets.  I still remember shopping at Pathmark in New Jersey.  I needed a couple of hours if I went there.

Happy to say that I'm much better today. Admittedly, a bit weak, but much better. I'm even doing the load of laundry that I wasn't able to do yesterday.

After weeks of ferreting out my East Coast clothes from the depths of my closets--wool sweaters, Polartec pullovers, warm socks, boots, scarves--it is now 75 degrees. WHAT? I know many of you would love that right now, but the weather roller-coaster is a bit difficult on the old bod.

Speaking of the roller-coaster, I see that Texas has had quite a ride weatherwise. John G, do you get temps in the 30s very often?

What sort of shower head is it? I was thinking of buying one that filters out chlorine. I had one in Alexandria and liked it.

No. I moved south to avoid this cold nonsense as much as possible. I really dislike it.
