Just received this nice e-mail re: my play, NELSON & JEANETTE.  Makes my day.

Dear Mr. Druxman:

I have just read your play, and wish to congratulate you on the craftsmanship, intelligence, and circumspection you bring to it.  At moments I intuited that my HOLLYWOOD DIVA was perhaps one of your research sources, and if so, I am pleased that it was useful to you.  Has the play been produced much?  It clearly calls for excellent singer-actors who can convey the wit and subtle sophistication your text demands - and such leads are, I imagine, not easy to find today!

With all good wishes,

That's great, Druxy!  Congrats!

I very much liked:
A Simple Plan by Scott Smith
A Judgment in Stone by Ruth Rendall
Thomas Harris' Red Dragon and The Silence of the Lambs

Oh man, I bet I lost some sleep over those last two back in the day.  The tense and horrorific stuff in those hit me hard.  Of course I loved every minute of it.

The weather has taken a dark turn. It's rainy, dreary and cold out. The thermostat 56 degrybut it feels much colder in the wind. Tomorrow is likely to bring more of the same. Then back to the 70s and sun.

I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep. There was an interesting update for the computer and which I did. Then I futzed and finessed, wrote two new pages then went for food

DR TCB I would contact the person who the cat belongs to and tell them what has been happening. They cannot expect you to chase the cat round your apartment. That is not your job. I would also tell the apartment's manager that this needs to be resolved ASAP.

Oh, I think he has expressed this to the manager.

DR TCB, would it be difficult for you to tape a note to Hell Kitty's door?  If they understand the difficulty this is causing you they might be more considerate.

Get a cat toy. When you are trying to get in to your apartment throw the toy down the hall.

I would tape a note to the owner's door. But really the manager should take care of it. Ridiculous to have the cat go in random apartments.

My super was by today to scrape off the mess left from my last bathroom calamity and to spackle the areas.  He's coming back later in the week to repaint.  While he was here, I told him about y neighbor's early mrning hammering and nosy homecoming at 3:30am.

DR ELMORE after I read your post about Dick Gautier, I went looking for a photo of him as Conrad Birdie.....but then I got distracted....and by the time I got back here, it seemed too late to comment.....

Each of your posts is treated with the same reverence as a dictum from the Missouri Synod, so please don't think they are ever unread.   They make my day.

I was planning to go to the market for eggs, milk, and celery.  It really isn't worth the risk with the ice storm approaching.  At least I did 4 miles on the treadmill today.  I should have gone longer but I wanted to go down to the river to take photos.  I was saved the trip to the river, my neighbor sent some.  I will share a couple doing it properly which might take me awhile.

If you look carefully at the "waves" behind the boats, it isn't waves.  It is chunks of ice floating down the river.  It looked more impressive with my eyes looking from a distance.

Back from a Philly cheesesteak and a few fries, and picking up one package.  The package that was supposed to be here on Sunday still isn't out for delivery so I'm on hold with Amazon.

The computer update this morning was interesting - it said it was a security update for El Capitan (haven't upgraded to Sierra yet) and fixes a kernel problem that caused some iMacs to become unresponsive.   Say what?  So, this was a known problem and my expert didn't know about the known problem?  Well, hopefully this will fix the computer freezes once and for all.

The ice is really worse than the snow.  We did not have a trash or recycle collection last week and it looks like we won't have it again this week.

Tuesday afternoon greetings!  Yes, Richard and I are celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary today.  We signed on the dotted line this morning to have our old, yucky bathtub replaced with a spiffy new walk-in shower.  For what it's costing, we could go to Europe and take another river cruise, but this really needs to be done.  Work will begin on February 6.

Well, we were together this morning.  My sister and I spent more time cleaning stuff out with Mom.  It wasn't as much fun today as yesterday...

Even when it's already a special day, signing something on a dotted line pretty much guarantees it will be memorable.

We've often done something for the house for our anniversary.  One year it was our dining room chandelier, another it was a washer and dryer.  Never anything of this magnitude, though.  We figure the tub would have to be replaced before the house could be sold, so we might as well do something we can enjoy for a while.
