Jane, carve out a lot of time if you want to read Thomas Wolfe. I don't think he ever met a paragraph he couldn't lengthen. Often unnecessarily.
If I remember correctly, I read Look Homeward Angel, Of Time and the River and You Can't Go Home Again, all back when I was a lot younger. By the third, I had had enough.
Then again, I never thought I'd adjust to Proust's page-long sentences and 12-page paragraphs.
