One dream, in which the thing that happened in it was a repeated moment in which nothing was happening.

Which is a little hard to explain.  So let's not try.

I was supposed to receive an Amazon delivery by 8pm yesterday.  At 9:00 I sent Amazon a "blow it out your ass" inquiry.  Sorry, Amazon, but I have no time for apologetic responses.  I want the item when you tell me I will receive it.  If I had known when I placed the order that I'd wait for four days, I could have bused down to the Apple Store and purchased it there.

This morning, Amazon has posted on my order page "Sorry your order is late." I remember when this company was good.

I have to run an errand today that takes me close to the Westport, CT Shake Shack, so guess where I'm having lunch.  And it's long overdue.  I love their burgers, but can't abide the lines in NYC so I never go to them there.  But this one is lovely.

Today is Joy's final tests before being certified as a dance instructor. I have to dance both the leader and the follower parts during her test. Should be a snap for her. I just hope my dancing helps her out.

Jane, carve out a lot of time if you want to read Thomas Wolfe. I don't think he ever met a paragraph he couldn't lengthen. Often unnecessarily.

If I remember correctly, I read Look Homeward Angel, Of Time and the River and You Can't Go Home Again, all back when I was a lot younger. By the third, I had had enough.

Then again, I never thought I'd adjust to Proust's page-long sentences and 12-page paragraphs.

Listening to Taking My Turn, a show that I love as much for its cast -- Sheila Smith, Margaret Whiting, Marnie Nixon -- as I do for the score.

Friday morning greetings!  It's snowing here in SW Ohio, but eventually Richard and I will have to mush out to the grocery store.  After being away for a week, we're out of almost everything!

I loved Wolfe's Look Homeward, Angel, but that was enough.  I think Ketti Frings' wonderful play makes dramatic order from a chaotic novel.

What DR Elmore is too modest to tell you is that he directed a wonderful production of the play here in Middletown in 1976.  He let me play Helen Gant, in the center in the apron:
