Didn't you have a book agent to represent your works to the studios for movies and TV?  Or did I dream that?

Watching "The Matchmaker, " which I recorded this morning.   It's interesting comparing it to Hello Dolly.

Matilda wasn't the best thing I ever saw, but I remember being very impressed with the young girl who played the title role.  And Christopher Sieber was hilarious as Miss Trumbull (not sure of the spelling).

DR Sandra just texted me that Wae-Ling is very excited about seeing Matilda. It starts in a few minutes.

She tried guessing what the surprise was all the way there. She asked if we were going to a college, and I said yes. She asked very excitedly: "Are we going to a lecture???"

It's in the 80s here today, with the sun shining. In other neighborhoods, I saw the first crepe myrtles in bloom. For those who don't know it, this is a tree that gets covered every spring with purple blossoms that smell deeply of grape Kool-Aid.

And I also saw a red bud tree covered with those beautiful magenta buds.

It sounds lovely.  It is 50 degrees here and the sun is shining.  I am happy.

At one time I had an agent helping, but it never amounted to anything.  I've certainly had interest in the Adriana books but that hasn't gone anywhere either.

Saturday evening greetings!  Richard and I took several bags of books to the AAUW sale site and then bought tickets for an early afternoon showing of LA LA LAND.  We killed an hour or so at Barnes & Noble before showtime.  The movie was not what I expected, but we enjoyed it.  We then went for a late lunch/early dinner at Bravo Italian Cucina and to Kroger for some groceries.  It was a beautiful day to be out and away from our torn up bathroom.

She thought they were going to see a lecture about the future of education in today's political climate.

It wasn't until Sandra pulled out the tickets that she knew she was going to see the show.

Just spent three hours finishing the commissioned song.  The music kind of came first for this one and I boxed myself into constant triple rhymes - I love doing them but they're very hard - the first two are easy, it's always the damn third that fouls you up.

I hope everyone enjoyed Matilda. One of these days, I'll watch the bootleg I have of the Broadway production.

Had a wonderful dinner with friends at the San Antonio Country Club, not a place I frequent. But my friend Gail is a member and there was a wonderful singer tonight, so I was glad to go. The band backing the singer was also very good, and I got in so fun dancing, which I don't get to do often.

Dessert was one of my favorites: peppermint ice cream with a chocolate brickle sauce that you pour over it and it hardens.

And tomorrow I'm judging the chili cookoff at church and going out to dinner with friends. So I have only a few hours to get my act together. Maybe the deadline pressure will help.
