I also rescheduled my acupuncture appointment from Friday to Saturday, when the storm should be over. We all know what happened last week when I was traipsing around in the rain trying to find my car. The tow was only indirectly related to the rain, but still.

There was one winter when LA had LOTS of flooding. It was sometime in the 1970s. BK? Jane? Chas? Heavy rain every day for about two weeks, IIRC.

Landslides are a big concern for some of those hillside homes.

I mostly remember the gully behind Castle Heights Elementary school overflowing. My mother, knowing that was the day it would happen, kept me home from school figuring I wouldn't be there long. I'm kind of sorry I missed the action. I recall standing at the back fence for a couple of days watching the water rise. Years ago a street was put in above the gully.

Grant did another pass, justified the right side text, did the em dashes and resent, so I'm printing that out at Staples and will spend the evening proofing - that way tomorrow we can pretty much put this to bed save for one final proofing. I want to have a bit more fun with the chapter headings and titles so I'm bringing about seven books I picked from my book room that do unconventional things with the chapter headings.

I've told Alexa (the voice service that powers Echo) to set an alarm for 7:45. I am curious if the rain, which shows no signs of letting up, will truly stop then as predicted.
