Time for me to shower and dress (watching my gig line) and head out to a rehearsal.

I think if I have to repress The Brain at some point, I may do it as a limited time only mini-LP thing.  I almost did LA Now and Then that way, too.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes and DD vibes.  Sorry I couldn't keep up personally with all the wishes, but the day sorta got away from me and my mind was focused on getting DD Ben home.

Speaking of which, we are all home and healthy.  Got some meds for the next week or so and of course the "Bland" diet, but we are all happy to be hope and together.

Here's one for the books.  On my Facebook feed, someone shared some post about the new New Beverly schedule - that's the revival theater that Quentin Tarantino owns and books.  He was posting on the thread - so I noticed they're showing Frank Perry's very rare film Ladybug, Ladybug, which I love but can't see as it's showing on the Kritzerland show day.  But I posted about the movie and closed my post with - Hey, Quentin, YOU, why haven't you booked The First Nudie Musical - I have many 35mm prints :).  He responded twice, said he's a big fan of both it and The Creature Wasn't Nice and my Partridge Family and other TV work.  Who knew?  So I asked him to please PM me.

At the gig.

At the non-BK gig.

BK's gig is the directing gig.

I'd double-dip for that!

It is not the best of birthdays when you are worrying about your beloved pet.  I'm glad DD Ben is home and doing better.  Continued good vibes for him!

Back from the ENT.  Thankfully, nothing serious.  A ball of wax that I could not apparently get to with my usual every two days Q-tip things, had lodged itself on my left eardrum.  So, first he vacuumed both ears, then he had to use another instrument to actually get this glob of wax.  All should be fine now - he said it may take a few hours to be back to completely normal, but it already feels so much better.

As I suspected which is why I mentioned the drops.  Did the doctor also mention you should not use Q-tips?

Before I lost the hearing in my right ear and had only lost it in the left, the doctor thought she was going to remove wax and instead found a piece of white cotton from a Q-tip.  Immediately I could hear again and asked if she could do that with the left year.  Sadly she couldn't and there is nothing blocking my right ear anymore.

He didn't say anything about Q-tips - I think from now on I won't go deep with the Q-tips - just to get out any guck that's easy to get to.

Great news on the ears, BK. Had you ever had them vacuumed before?

Well, while we're on this tangent, has anyone here ever had his or her nasal passages vacuumed?

My college roommate had this done frequently circa 1967-70.

That said, I wish a vacuum had been available when my ears were clogged.  The ENT used a special hooked tool to remove the wax clog.  I had been using, prior to this incident, one of those products to squirt a liquid into your ears with a blue rubber bulb thingy....but the ENT told me I should never do that.  The ears, he said, naturally clean themselves.  Truth is, after the heated pool event, the ears have changed "natural" functions, although I'm still able to clean them.

Nope. Just ears. Ears are weird enough with the vacuum.

We have been having interesting sightings on our walks.  Over the last 5 days we have seen a sea lion, two swimming beavers, and tons of Buffleheads.  I would take a photo except with my camera they will only look like little black & white dots in the water.  Yesterday as we were walking along the long stretch of water we were delighted to see them fly in and land.  Group after group coming in.  It almost felt as if they would never stop, but they did.
