Friday afternoon greetings!  Richard and I went to the bank today to check our safe deposit box for our marriage certificate, which we'll need for a Medicare appointment week after next.  I'd already looked (twice) in all the obvious places here at home to no avail and, alas, it was not at the bank either.  We can get a duplicate, of course, but it perplexes me that I can put my hands easily on our birth and baptism certificates, my college acceptance letter and transcripts, every card we received for our wedding, Rob's birth, and our move into this house, but not the one item for which we have an immediate need.  My sister, the genealogist, told me that as soon as we obtain the duplicate, we'll find the original...

DR Ginny, I'm usually pretty organized, but it really bugs me when I can't find something. In my case, it generally turns out to be right where it should be and I looked there, but it somehow didn't register.

Hope you find it, if only for the peace of mind.

Maybe that glob of ear wax was doing some good.   ;)

I've been watching WINTER, an Australian crime series on Acorn TV, this week. Quite good. I recommend it. I hope there's a second season.

Had a short and excellent work session with Boswell, who is getting over a cold.  So must pop more preventatives and really glad I'm not going tonight.

for BK to miss Sandy's show is quite out of the ordinary, but it's the right choice, IMHO.

I passed the blood pressure test at the doctor's office this morning. He also cleared me to hike if I do it carefully. If the foot doesn't get better in a couple months, he will send me for some kind of physical therapy thing where they make you cry out in pain but will fix it.

Let me know if you need to borrow Gus.  It's been ages since you two have seen each other.

And now, I'm off.  First, to my parents' house for our weekly family dinner together, then to the theater for the second weekend of Playhouse Creatures

Until later!

A co-worker of mine and his wife got married in Mexico (they're both American born and bred) and he said that they've never had an actual marriage certificate.  He was in the navy and it was never questioned.  I don't know what he would do if he would need an actual piece of paper.  He's never been concerned, though. :)

I hope the navy married them.  It is my understanding those marriages are not legal.  He really should find out.  It would be terrible if something happened to one of them and the other was denied their rights by marriage.

DR TCB,  I am glad your mouth is healing.  Vixmom and Laura how are you doing?

Jane, I think it has healed as well as it is going to heal. It doesn't feel the same as before the surgery, but I think that's the way it is going to be. I get to do it again on the other side next month.

Hopefully there will still be improvement with time.

I didn't realize you had been told not to hike.  Vibes you can soon return to your normal hikes!

Poor Richard Sherman - canceled his trip to London and is in rehab for his back problems - apparently from getting up and coughing at the same time, which is how this began, he fractured (very MILD) two vertebrae.  So, he'll be there for about two weeks.

He is living at a rehab facility?  He might be begging for food deliveries soon.  Sending healing vibes!!!

Around 7pm they broke into our local programming saying a storm was aiming right at us that would contain potentially damaging hail and to put your car in a garage if you have one.  We decided to put my 12-year-old car on the street and Richard's 2-year-old car in the garage.  We did have some hail, but not of a size that would damage the finish on a car.

We just finished watching HACKSAW RIDGE.

It's one of the best 2-3 films I've seen this year (i.e. 2016).

I went to bed around 8:00 last night, so I've had plenty of sleep.  Around 12:00, the new neighbor above me made her noisy return, and I had to endure 30-45 minutes of her heels hitting the floor and other noises, such as the folding bed hitting the floor with a loud thud.  She was noisy enough to wake me, and that pisses me off.

Have you ever slept with a white noise machine in the room?  It blocks out so many sounds. I sleep with it even when it's quiet.
