I think they sent the thunderstorm watch here, JRAND. Thunderstorms predicted through Tuesday.

The laundry is in the washers, and now I will make the bed.

I make a simple quesdilla.  For me, the tortilla (I like to alternate between flour and corn) and the cheese (always jack, sometimes with cheddar), warmed on a griddle, are a purely magical taste sensation.  I also consider some diced green chiles to be part of a basic quesadilla.

After that, some fresh guacamole and/or some shredded or diced chicken or beef.  A dab of sour cream is nice, but optional.

And that's about it.  As much as I love onion and bell peppers and all the rest, I'm more likely to throw these into an "everything" type of burrito.

I'm off to a new breakfast place this morning called Snooze. Their cocktail list looks promising. The breakfast dishes look over the top, things like cinnamon roll pancakes with belly bacon in them.

I just fainted.

I was pleasantly surprised at the positive audience reaction to this La Cage last night.  Okay, opening night, so it's populated by everybody's friends and family.  But that audience was just what this cast needed and they rose to the occasion.  I hadn't been too impressed with the proceedings prior to this, but the music started, and the opening monologue, and suddenly they had a real show going on.

A couple of the supporting cast are really not good, but the show is carried well by the rest.  Very sparse set design, but that's working, too.  The band is too loud, I know that, and though we're in a cavernous church, most are good players who could be damping it way the hell down but they're not being guided.  Maybe that will improve, but, oh well.  It's turning out to be an okay gig.  Three weekends.

One thing I've learned this week: sometimes what is painfully obvious to you may only become obvious to another some time later.

And sometimes it never becomes obvious to that other person.

I'm gonna tell you how fate works sometimes - I don't think it's much of a secret that my original plan for book writing this year was a new Adriana book - had the title and the setting all picked and it was a good one.  So, I'll reveal the title because when I do if you've heard the news today you'll know how a) prescient I sometimes am, and b) how awful it would have been had I actually written it in terms of the timing.  Murder at the Magic Castle.  For those who haven't heard, they found a dead body in a closet there - being investigated as a suicide at the moment.  Weird?

The catchy title would have been very bad timing, and yes weird.

Rehab places for physical injuries can potentially be very pleasant if the expectation is that it will be short-term (as opposed to permanent, that is).

When my mom had a fracture a few years ago that just had to heal, she really liked being in a a place where she felt secure in case of an aggravation of the accident spot, plus: at least for a short period, the variety of the activities they tried to plan for the patients was most enjoyable to her as she healed for that month or so.

I am glad your mother had a good experience.   She must have been in a good one.

When I was in the hospital after my shoulder surgery I briefly thought they would send me to the nursing home I used to volunteer at.  In that brief moment before I came to my senses and remembered I had Keith to take care of me, the thought of going there was horrible.

No longer care about the Oscars except which song wins so I can change it from nominee to winner in my Itunes listing.

I have never tried to predict the winners, just hoped my favorites would win.  This year I hope two things, that LA LA LAND does not win best picture, and that Nicole does not win for her performance.

If I agree or disagree it doesn't matter, I have always felt winning an award is not the place to get up and express ones political views.

I did not see Elle.

Of the few Oscar nominees I saw, I liked He'll or High Water best, but Druxy's right. It won't win.

Hidden Figures was second, but it won't win.

La La Land will.

I thought both of those were much better than LLL, and worthy of their nominations.

Belated apologies for yesterday's photo being so large.  Now that I'm using Photobucket, I just upload whatever I've got without giving it a thought.  On my browser it was fine, so I'm sorry y'all had to scroll to see it all.

And the laundry is in the dryers.  My next job is to clean out my storage are and find last year's taxes.  I will do that after the laundry is finished.

I don't know what time I'll be back tomorrow to tune into the Oscars.  Our Sunday show starts at 5 pm, and I think there's a little something after that I should attend.  At any rate, I'm pretty sure I'll be getting a late start.  Not that I'm in such an Oscar mood this year, but I usually can't resist watching the bloodbath.  I, too, still wish it was done at least a month later, like it was back in the day.

Saturday morning/afternoon greetings!  I'm starting this post at 11:57am, so by the time it appears it will probably be afternoon.  I was the last member of the household to get up this morning, which is ver-r-r-ry unusual.  Had a little trouble going to sleep last night, probably due to the 2 squares of very dark Ghirardelli chocolate that I ate about 10pm.

I went for a pair of eggs Benedict, one with pulled pork and green chili, the other with prosciutto and arugula. A peanut butter cup pancake. And a decaf Cafe Negroni, because gin is what's for breakfast.

Continued good show/audience vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.

It's nice to be involved with a HIT!

I have yet to see LA LA LAND, but I am surprised that there is so many negative comments about it, yet it appears to be the clear favorite.

Why do people "hate" it?

I may not watch the Oscars this year.....I am not saying that I necessarily disagree with what they are saying....but there are better places to say it.  It eventually becomes overkill.....very very quickly.....

I'm up, I'm up - I have no idea how much sleep I got but I'd be surprised if it was over four hours.  I didn't Ny-Quil last night and simply could not fall asleep.  While I'm sure I did sleep it felt like I was up and then of course we have the hammering and yammering on this fine Saturday.
