Great quote from a Fannie Flagg novel:

Oh my God, Earl, I am an illegitimate Polish Catholic person!

I am home from my wanderings today.

I dud very well with my taxes and I am getting a lot back.  This will pay for my trup to Ohio in May, and I am quite happy about that.

Then I went to City Center, and we had a meeting about last week's band reading and talked about what is left to be done before the March 18 sitzprobe.

Just got some good news. The biopsy results show that whatever's is growing on my thyroid is not cancer. What it is they still don't seem to know.

WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!

Was it The Greatest Show in Earth, Ron?

No.  It was nominated for three and won two.

Was it The Greatest Show in Earth, Ron?

Answer:  1935's "Mutiny on the Bounty" - MGM.  It was nominated for 8, including Best Actor nominations for Laughton, Gable and Tone, but it only won "Outstanding Production".

Thirty minutes with AppleCare: when I tried to open a document this morning, the computer told me I had no permission.  Just now, when I tried to phone in my monthly meds, I couldn't open the list of meds because, my computer said, I had no permissions.  A nice lady named April just fixed me up.

Big sigh of relief.

Had part one of our rehearsal.  I ran my two songs but boy is my voice trashed right now - still fighting this damn thing.  John is still getting over it as is one of our singers, who's had it for three WEEKS.

So, Druxy, despite his clearly worded post that he wouldn't be at our partay because he wouldn't be watching the Oscars for political reasons, watched the Oscars and did not attend our partay.  Yes, perfectly understandable.

1.) I've NEVER attended the Oscar party, mainly because my computer is in one room and the TV is in the other.  I did, however, post after the show.

2.) Frankly, I didn't think the political barbs were that bad.  Had they been, I would have turned it off.  But, then I would've missed the biggest screw-up in Oscar history.

Anything else?

Well, it turns out that the announcement of the best picture wasn't the only snafu...Australian Producer Jan Chapman "Devastated" by Mistaken Oscars In Memoriam Photo.  It turns out that the Academy used Jan Chapman's picture for Janet Patterson.  Jan Chapman is still very much alive. :-\

Better to be alive and devastated than to be dead and not care one way or the other.

And getting oneself a bit of "Oscar notoriety" is something for the obituary later on, isn't it!

Note to Druxy - my TV is in one room and my computer is in another.  Didn't stop me from relentlessly posting in the commercial breaks.
