Today I heard that my father in law is better and that if his
X-rays are clear he can go home this week

And my friend Cory's daughter let me know that herMom was out of the coma and the doctors think they have arrested the sepsis

Wonderful news on both fronts, Vixmom!!

A loverly review of last night's show: http://www.haineshisway.com/now-playing/

That's a great review of the show, BK.  But then I wonder why there are only three stars...I would think that the way he describes how good the show was and how much he liked it, there would be at least four stars, if not five.

Just a thought. :-\

Elmore how wonderful that you have the New Yorker recording!

It's nice to have a DVD, but I'd frankly prefer a bootleg audio.

Is the DVD of the whole show?  Making an audio from a DVD is pretty easy...said the guy who could do this and who'd love to have his own copy of it either way. ::)

Great news on both accounts, Vixmom. Continued vibes and prayers of healing.

As someone who'd like George to create that CD, I'll second that notion.

Watching a DVD of Alvin Ailey's company do Revelations. This is the same cast that was in town last week. I love this. Can't get enough of it. Their bodies are astonishing. Getting to see them in closeup makes me more in awe of their physical power than I was last Tuesday.

You know if you need someone to hold on to an archival copy for safekeeping just as a backup ...

I never want to ask Rob about the stars, but I'm pretty sure he meant four stars.

Glad books have arrived so quickly - hoping folks will read soon and, if they enjoy, post a little review on Amazon, as they really help.  Jrand, we checked your tracking - package is in Indiana so I'm sure you'll have it tomorrow.

a bizarre DVD has come in to the library. It's a disc with both Man of La Mancha and The Fantasticks on it. Why would anyone pair those movies, other than they are both United Artists musicals?

Love this lead from Variety's review of Amelie:

The only thing remotely Parisian about “Amelie” is the use of a bilious shade of green reminiscent of the outdoor pissoirs one used to see all over Paris. Hardly the image to take away from this musical-theater adaptation of the quirky 2001 film that brought goofy grins to the faces of besotted movie fans.

The reviews of the show are, surprisingly, more or less in line with mine.

Very nice review. And, yes, the rating doesn't seem to match the content.

Cut into a mamey sapote today. Can't say I was thrilled with the texture, but it was good in a milkshake.

I occasionally eat Weathers original, had one today, and I think of them as hard candies.  I have had the soft chewy ones but I never saw them until a few years ago.
