No one has mentioned this yet, but has anyone been affected by power outages in NYC or LA?

Here in the Bay Area, our rapid transit system was impacted by a power outage that affected about 90,000 people.

It seems that some hackery has been involved.

Yes. Several in Manhattan.

Friday afternoon greetings!  Our household crashed pretty early last night due to fatigue from the rough night before.  This morning I was outta here shortly after 9 for my monthly art class in Centerville (Dayton 'burb).  I took myself out for lunch on the way home.

Soon I will take Richard out to do some errands.  He's taking some meds that cause drowsiness and it's not advisable for him to drive.

Well, it's official!  I'm Mr. Pinky!  And I would assume the other roles played by that track...at least, I'm hoping that I'll play those other roles. :D

Thanks, Jrand!  We don't start rehearsals until June, but I don't know (yet) how soon we'll get scripts.

Once again, the battery is fine, the starter is fine, and the alternator is fine - so something is draining the battery and we have no idea what, so next week I'll take the car in for its servicing and see if they can figure it out.

This is sad news.  Photographer Lee Snyder, who photographed me and "Just Good Friends" in 1982, lived across from me on 82nd Street for the past 36 years.  He was living there when I moved into my building. I used to wave to him every time he biked past me in the neighborhood.  He was always on the go. energetic and positive.  Last autumn, he retired and moved to North Carolina, and we kept in touch by FB and email.  I sent him the CDs of the BBC broadcast of Jubilee around two months ago.

Well, this morning I learned that he suffered a stroke this week.  His niece says he's been taken off life support, his FB age says he's sleeping under his doctor's care. Either way - and I hope someone confirms one thing or the other soon - I am worried about him.

Topic of the Day:

In my CD player is a compilation from England called The Songs Of Bacharach And David.  It's quite enjoyable. :)

Agreed.  My dad had a stroke.  My cousin Butch recently had a stroke and remains in the hospital receiving therapy.  Stroke victims require round-the-clock care until they can rehabilitate to be self-sufficient, if they can.   It's always worrisome when someone has a stroke.

Finished the commentary, so that's out of the way.  I had an omelet and bagel for my meal o' the day, picked up a package, and now I can relax until it's time to mosey on over to the theater around 6:45 - early, but I'll get me a good parking space.
