Well, you've read the notes, the notes were fishy, and now it is time for you to post until the fishy cows come home.

T.O.D.

I will probably travel to Redbox and rent either THE FOUNDER or MISS SLOANE.

BK,

Although I haven't seen it in decades, I recall liking THE SCAR very much.

It was certainly an atypical role for Paul Henreid, who I knew and interviewed for Coronet Magazine back in the 1970s.  That interview, as well as Henreid's candid remarks that didn't make print, appears in my new book, HOLLYWOOD SNAPSHOTS: The Forgotten Interviews.

Thanks for the opening to plug it here again.    ;)

Friday is today.

I have to have some blood drawn for some tests to get some answers.....I think I have enough.  I have been fasting since about 10 p.m.....which is no hardship.

Will be glad to take this first step toward getting WELL.....

I need to take an hour to review this mish-mash of a keyboard book I'm playing from tonight, but the morning and afternoon are mine.

I believe I'll get some laundry done, too.  Yes, that's the ticket.

I've heard from the conductor of the three choral pieces, and I am off the hook.  I'm sorry to lose the work, but that''s the best solution at this point.

I do have to tackle this entire health insurance mess this morning, and I'm still really angry about it.  They are denying payments from March 24, yet I have a new referral to the same therapist for five sessions beginning after April 5!

I've emailed my doctor, and of course there's been no response yet.

This is sad news.  Photographer Lee Snyder, who photographed me and "Just Good Friends" in 1982, lived across from me on 82nd Street for the past 36 years.  He was living there when I moved into my building. I used to wave to him every time he biked past me in the neighborhood.  He was always on the go. energetic and positive.  Last autumn, he retired and moved to North Carolina, and we kept in touch by FB and email.  I sent him the CDs of the BBC broadcast of Jubilee around two months ago.

Well, this morning I learned that he suffered a stroke this week.  His niece says he's been taken off life support, his FB age says he's sleeping under his doctor's care. Either way - and I hope someone confirms one thing or the other soon - I am worried about him.

I read a bunch of "Hello, Dolly!" reviews and they were smashing, save for the Wall Street Journal that BK alerted us to yesterday and which Jrand shared with us this morning.

After reading the other critical reactions, I have to say that the WSJ reviewer seems to think that "Hello, Dolly!" should have more "gravitas" to it than is on the stage in this production.  I got the feeling he was looking for a "Les Miz" effect, or, possibly, something along the lines of "Phantom of the Opera" rather than Jerry Herman's totally wonderful hurdy-gurdy score.

He was particularly harsh about the quality of Midler's voice.   Am wondering if he's ever heard Carol Channing's.
