On the Guys & Dolls front, I am up to "Sue Me," so I essentially have that, "Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat," and "Marry the Man Today" along with the incidentals to finish up.  I doubt I will finish today, but I will by tomorrow night.

We had this TOD recently. For me, it's the binocular death in Horrors of the Black Museum.

I can't believe that with all of the recordings of Hello, Dolly! that I have, I have neither Pearl nor Mary.

Now I am listening to Mary Martin and the London cast of HELLO, DOLLY!

I had never owned this nor the Bailey/Calloway recording until I bought both of them a few years ago.  I love both recordings. :)

Me too.  Other than THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X and THE LAST STARFIGHTER, I find it to be the almost perfect musical comedy.

TCB or George, have you ever worked at or seen anything at Second Story in Redmond, Washington?  (I hear Redmond is 15 miles from Seattle.)   They seem quite interested in including THE LAST STARFIGHTER musical in their 2018 season, assuming details are worked out, of course.   They'd contacted BK and we referred them to the licensing company.    We wouldn't be involved with the production, but if it's a multi-week run, I'd probably fly out to see it.

And again, thanks to Bk for the referral.

Good luck this works out.  I hope the timing will be good and we can meet you there.

DR JohnG, sorry about your fan repair costs. I think my landlord, who covers AC in my original lease, no longer wants to pay for replacement units, so I hope mine lasts for some time.

Garrett Lewis replaced Carlton Carpenter when he broke his leg in London during rehearsals, but I saw much o0f the London cast when the company played Cincinnati on its way to Viet Nam, Japan, and London.  She was fantastic, aqnd the production remains one of the best things I ever saw.

DAMN!  I'm jealous.

Mine are the original LPs I bought back in the day.  Haven't listened to either of them in years.  Must get them out, clean them, and enjoy.

Saturday morning greetings!  Today is lasagna-making day.  I'll assemble it and freeze it to transport to my niece's in Illinois on Tuesday.  We're staying with her for 2 nights before heading to Chicago for ALA and we'll provide a nice dinner for one of those nights.

I'm up, I'm up - six-and-a-half hours of sleep due to late-night laundry.  I did listen to the best Ravel piano concertos I've ever heard - part of the Cluytens box set, recorded in 1959.

FJL, I know many people whom have worked at Second Story in the last few years, and all of them have enjoyed the experience.  I have only seen one show at Second Story.  I saw their production of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC which featured my friends Sharry and Micheal as Madame Armfeldt and Fredrik Egerman.  It was a wonderful production.  It is an intimate performance space, but quality productions.

I've only known him through a couple of French opera recordings, notably Pelleas et Melisande.  I'll bet there's a lot of good stuff in that set.
