I suspect Jane and Keith will spend the weekend going for a nice drive or two.

As lovely as this sounds, we are going to put the miles on the old car.  I might take advantage of having two cars, while it lasts, and do extra errands in the mornings.

Not nice, Elmore. I'm glad I wasn't trapped in there.

Same here.

Awhile back friends from England contacted us they will be in Vancouver on vacation & would we like to meet for coffee.  Once I explained we are in Washington and not Canada they suggested meeting us in Seattle.

I am shocked to find out they need a visa to come to the states.  They didn't get a visa.  Either we go to Vancouver, BC or we don't see them.  Seattle is less than 3 hours away while the other Vancouver is 5 hours.

It's funny. This version of War and Peace isn't very good, despite some very good performances. But the story is so good that it just sweeps you along.

Great names for a pair of kitties.

War and Peace has come to an end. Audrey Hepburn won out in the end.

Now I'm starting something called "Welcome Stranger," which seems like a spiritual descendant of Going My Way. Bing Crosby and Barry Fitzgerald, songs by Burke and Van Heusen.

Had a good run-through - still forgetting bits of blocking but I actually get out loud vocal about it now when it happens.  And too much not knowing lines, so I've told everyone they must come in on Tuesday fully memorized.  As of Thursday I won't allow "line" to be called.

Then we had a super fun Kritzerland stumble-through - one of the stumble-throughs where there was an attack of the lyric flubs - once one person does it, everyone seems to follow suit - it's funny.  But great performances, wonderful material, and it's a really cute show.  I gave my usual notes after, and then went and had a pastrami with cole slaw and Russian dressing, a few fries, and a side Caesar salad.

Listening to ravishing Ravel.  The funny thing is, I had a complete Cluytens Ravel set on EMI - I got rid of it because the sound was not to my liking, but clearly it has been completely remastered and sounds amazingly amazing.  Cluytens was, apparently, Ravel's favorite conductor of his music - and these performances are stunningly beautiful and simple and pure.

My late friend and publicity client, Dan O'Herlihy, co-starred in the movie (non-musical) version of THE LAST STARFIGHTER.

BK had played the roles of Grig (played on the screen by Dan O'Herlihy) and Otis in the New York Musical festival reading of the musical.

as mentioned in the Playbill article from back then
http://www.playbill.com/article/lost-in-the-stars-the-last-starfighter-receives-free-readings-at-nymf-sept-29-30-com-135295

And the Vixter and I were lucky enough to be in the audience for one of the performances

Tomorrow I meet up with author Tomie dePaola & Mother Dolores Hart & Co. for a rehearsal of the event next weekend in which I'm tickling the plastics with scene music.  Details at http://abbeyofreginalaudis.org/visit-theater.html#tomie

Wow I remember the Vixter reading his books when she was little. I can't think if the names now but I know she loved them
