Then I decided to see what all the fuss is about Chick-fil-A

I have never been, nor will I ever go, to a Chick-fil-A. :P

I have eaten a Chick-fil-A sandwich and did not get my gay card revoked.  Of course, I didn't go and buy it myself, and I didn't really care for the sandwich.

What is this newest trendy nonsense - the Whole30 diet?  And why are people constantly taken in by these things?  They do them, lose weight they could lose anyway, and then gain it all back within six months.  But they SWEAR by it and try to get all their friends to do it.

I had to look this up.  30 stands for 30 days so it isn't a long term diet.  It is changing the way you eat, supposedly using foods that will make you feel better as well as lose weight.  Then you switch to something else, adding & changing foods depending how you react to them.

You're supposed to do 30 days and then you're supposed to feel so good that you eat that way the rest of your life.

I guess the people I read that raved about decided to switch to a different diet 😀

For awhile now :)

3rd night in a row my head hurts.  It should be better soon since I took some Tylenol,  however, the light on my tablet is bothering me.

We are expecting weather to heat up dramatically today and tomorrow.  Possibly record-breaking heat for Oakland.

Although not record-breaking, we are going to get the hot weather by Saturday or Sunday.

Today I skipped the old actors lunch and, instead, had lunch with my friend, Sharry.

Back from a good run-through.  Only a handful of call for lines in act three.  I hate not getting out of there at ten sharp, but we haven't been starting on time - tonight we started at seven-forty and with the two ten-minute breaks finished exactly two hours later - I am VERY proud of that.  But I had a lot of notes and that kept us there until ten-thirty.

I miss those rehearsals at this stage of the production.  When you are off-book and you can really start polishing your character and the show in general.

Well, tonight we don't have rehearsal for Hairspray, so I'm able to go to Harlequin Productions' volunteer appreciation night and final preview for their production of First Date.  I have the CD and enjoy it, so it's nice that I'll finally get to see it.

Be back later!

Well, First Date was very good!  It had a simple but effective set, good costumes, and a wonderful cast.  I knew three of the seven actors and they were all great!

I got to chat with other volunteers for more time than you usually get when you're ushering, so that was fun. :D

Starting in on the earliest version of The Maltese Falcon with Bebe Daniels and Ricardo Cortez.

I think my dad has the different movie versions.  He loves the Bogart version...it's one of his all-time favorite movies.

I can never remember if it's Papa John's or Papa Murphy's that should be avoided.  My sister gave me a coupon card for Papa Murphy's, so I guess I can use it now.  ;)

I almost forgot!  The actor who is playing Edna in Hairspray...his wife is in First Date.  I didn't know that.

And I just realized (literally right this moment) that she played Edna in Olympia Family Theater's original production of CinderEdna! :D
