Yes, Ginny. Go on your trip. Take some time for yourself. There's plenty of time to deal with the reality of things.

Back from Gelson's and I just made two burgers on low-cal buns, one of which has the brand spanking new McDonald's Big Mac sauce that dear reader George found - it's pretty good.

I thought you bought McDonald's tartar sauce, not the Big Mac Sauce.  I tried my Big Mac Sauce for the first time last night and I liked it, too.

I'm happy you are okay, DR Jane, and that neither one of you was injured.

During one of the rehearsals for Hairspray, one of the older kids needed to change their tire, but they didn't have a jack.  I have one in my car, but I couldn't get it out because it was all rusted in place. :o I have no idea what condition my spare tire is in.  I should probably have that looked at, too...someday.

Road service changed the tire and then we drove to the dealership. We will have to leave our car, rent another car, and pick our car up on the way home.

Glad that you were able to get it changed.  It's too bad that you now have to rent a car.  How long will you need it?

Thank you DR Elmore. When it happened I was dozing and was shocked not to be in pain after getting rear ended. It must have been metal that hit us so hard. I think it also got a car we saw that was pulled over & had a piece of rubber near the trunk.

It has been years since we needed to change a tire.

Until Tues or Wednesday. We were enjoying our road trip in our new car. He said the rental won't be nearly as comfortable

We are glad we weren't hurt and will be able to continue on to the wedding. If it had to happen, on the way home would have been more desirable.

We are almost on the road again. We had to drive across the street to fill up the gas tank.

My fellow pianist (female, so not an actual fellow) and I just had our first read-through of I Do! I Do!, and damn, this is fun.  It's every bit as satisfying as rehearsing the typical small band for a show, if not more so.  It's more like chamber music, and it's great having two of the identical keyboard running through one nice amp.

I really like the duo-piano arrangement -- except in the places I don't, where some things are just blatantly wrong.  Or where they're not wrong, but they're not very right either because they don't utilize the two players for best effect, or for logic and ease in execution.  In some of those instances, the folks on BK's recording must not have liked it either, and we're going to make some of the same or similar corrections.

Another session tomorrow morning, then about a week and a half break before we're back together again and the hell breaks loose because we have to throw together "Nobody's Perfect" for a "cocktails and cabaret" fundraiser type of thing.

And speaking of McDonald's Big Mac Sauce, back on March 24, 2008, 10:26:29 AM, Jennifer posted this recipe of a version of Big Mac Sauce that she's made:

Quote
Oh and if anyone loves the McDonald "special" Big Mac sauce. I tried this and it is quite tasty.

1/2 cup mayo
2 tbsp french dressing
2 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
1 tablespoon finely minced white onion
1 tsp white vinegar
1 tsp sugar
1/8 tsp salt.

Mix well.
