Well, you've read the notes, the notes had missing pith, and now it is time for you to post until the pithy cows come home.

I had no idea until looking it up on wiki last night that "One's On the Way" was actually written by the distinguished author Shel Silverstein.

Another brilliant Stanley Cortez film that has expert camera work is The Night of the Hunter.

I got the Criterion release from 2010 which was restored by BK's neighbor Robert Gitt. There is also an interview with him.

Most interesting is on a separate disk is outtakes, alternate scenes/takes of the movie and you can hear Charles Laughton's directorial process as he works with and molds their performances especially those of the children. He is sometimes hard on Shelley Winters. The fascinating documentary is show in film order so you can rewatch that way. There is an intro with Mr. Gitt and Leonard Maltin talking about how he found the footage, restored it and put it together.

Also glad to see that the Blu-Ray release of Lost Horizon that Mr. Gitt worked on for many years is making way to a new digital release. It will include an additional 1 minute of footage recently found.

I hope with all the new digital processing techniques the release will be a lot better than the last DVD release.

I, too, enjoy THE UNLOCKED WINDOW - Louise Latham notwithstanding - there was a remake for the 1980's version of AHP, in color that used the old b/w Hitchcock intros in a colorized version.....that one may have only been a half hour....and it may be on YouTube....but it's not really worth watching.....

I'm happy to learn that the show was a sellout for its last performance. And on to the musical!

I had an email from Randy, who's getting revved up about my Ohio return.  I will call Joshie in a bit to see how the score for the Twelfth Night Overture is progressing.  He was shopping for a pair of shoes yesterday, and I am curious to see if he found anything he liked.

DR Elmore, I am also looking forward to your visit and agree with you comment from yesterday that we should plan something fun!

I know that Randy and Jo have family plans for Labor Day and I look forward to seeing family I love.  Everything else is contingent upon Carmon's rehearsals for the piece; I may be missing one, if the symphony still follows its Monday night rehearsals, and I suspect there will not be another until the day of the concert.

I need to see Joe Deer at Wright State a some point and make a couple of trips to Oxford, so can we plan around that?

I need a run to Staples to pick up packing chips and tape.  I want to ship these three cartons to the library on Tuesday, if possible.
