I'm glad the exhausting day is over, Ginny. Now you can begin the new normal.

Wednesday afternoon greetings.  Our day has been filled with family, friends, tears, laughter, and hugs as we celebrated my mother's long life.  Rev. Amy performed a service that was perfect and it was so good to sing 3 favorite hymns with all those Palmers.  My niece, nephew, and cousin assumed responsibility for meeting the caterer here at the house while we lingered a bit at church.  By the time we got here, our guests had beverages and were getting acquainted and visiting.  Two vehicles left from here for Michigan, one for Illinois, and one for Georgia.  Mary Linda did most of the clean-up and the last guest left about 4:30.

I am pretty tired, but also very pleased.

This warmed my heart.

Continued MEGA, MEGA VIBES to JRAND!

Could someone explain the difference between ordinary chemo and infusion chemo? Infusion requires a port, I presume, but what else?

I think my late-night e-mail worked.  I had a measured response this morning, and the planned eleven o'clock call never came.  So, I've got another couple of weeks before having to deal with the cloven hoof.

I've had a real Mercury Retrograde kind of day. Over the weekend our dryer was acting flaky, but my mechanically-inclined neighbor came by and unplugged it, then replugged it and VIOLA! Today I was able to wash my towels, but when I tried to use the dryer, nada. Said neighbor came home as I was tacking a note on the laundry room door. He tried again--I'd tried, too--but we couldn't get the machine to work. Sigh. We only have one washer and one dryer, so it's a real inconvenience when they are kaput.

I put the damp towels in the back of my car, then drove over to the nearby laundromat. No laundromat. WHAT?! Gone. It's now a burger joint. Sigh. Fortunately, I was able to find two laundromats not too far away. I drove to one, drove around the block several times hunting for a parking space, and then dried the towels.

I must say that I REALLY AND TRULY prefer to have my own washer and dryer, but thank God for a nearby laundromat when needs must.

I do not know when this Mercury Retrograde ends, but we have a solar eclipse coming up on Monday and I'll be glad when that's behind us.

My political thought for today is from a friend with whom I worked summer theatre in 1972.

I'm glad the exhausting day is over, Ginny. Now you can begin the new normal.

Thank you, DR Laura.  Mary Linda is taking the 3 bereavement days her job allows and won't go back to work until Monday.  Think I'll do the same...
