George, I'm glad your group went out and sang today. A little love is what we need right now.

My sister Annaliese came to town and we had a nice day together.
She found a paper saying Dad had been in the Reserves. It's on no other document about his service. She's going to research it more.

That's interesting.  Tomorrow is my dad's birthday.  He was in the army but not in the Reserves.

Thanks, John.  It was also fun to reconnect with castmates and chat a bit.

Well, I went to the Best Buy at the Capital Mall on the west side Olympia to see if they had dual-layer DVDs in stock, and they didn't.  Darn. :-\

I then walked around the mall to see if any other store even sold blank DVDs, and I didn't find any that did.  So, I went to Target, which is right next to the Capital Mall, and they didn't have any, either. :(

Then while sitting in the Target parking lot, I got on my phone and looked on Best Buy's website to see if the Hawk's Prairie store had any.  Their website indicated that there were some in stock, so I hurried out to Lacey!

That's all I needed, because they only come in towers of 50 discs.

I bought it, came home, ate the other half of my Subway sandwich from earlier today, and now am happily burning the first of three DVDs on my newly acquired dual-layer DVDs!

Finished with my viewing.  Listened to another Ellington classic  - Piano in the Background - and then it went to directly to Elgar and his variations on an original theme - wonderful music especially the famous Enigma Variation.  That's the pleasure sometimes, just having something start playing and you become entranced by it.

Had the last of the Freshly meals - pasta and sausage - it was good - and some popcorn.  Too much food, but I'll be a very good boy tomorrow.

Robert Yacko called and said he found his true footing tonight and the audience really loved it and he finally had fun rather than worrying about things.  That was basically what all of last night's notes were about - how to energize the beginning of each new patter section - but the note that did the trick was the one about the act being like a first date.  That really hit home with him and made all the difference.  Alby also e-mailed me to tell me it finally went exactly as it should - very few fumfers, lots o' laughs.  Lucie Arnaz was in attendance, too, and said she loved it.
