Made pesto tonight with the half bushel of basil that was growing out back.

But I'm seeing blue in the sky outside, so that's a plus.

And now I'm watching a Jane Powell flick called The Girl Most Likely with a Hugh Martin/Ralph Blane score. Gower Champion did the dances and Stanley Donen produced.

That sounds good.  Send it to me instead of Bruce ;)

Hi John.  I don't know how you do that long drive in one day, especially in bad weather.  You must have been relieved to arrive home.

Not liking the looks of Irma forming off the coast of the Carolinas.

Tobe Hooper has died. "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" was a very different and very effective picture.

The photos from Houston and the coast are just heartbreaking.

They are.  At least people are able to take their pets with them when they are rescued.

I doubt I'd be able to do this with anyone else in the car. I just stop for gas and a bathroom break, then back in the car. Just get it over.

Shelters are getting dogs in at about 60 an hour :(
"Animal shelters and rescue groups are taking in numerous pets displaced by the storm ― whether the animals got lost in the chaos, got left behind, or simply need temporary housing while their owners stay in evacuation shelters. Those groups include the SPCA of Texas, Austin Pets Alive!, Dallas Animal Services and the San Antonio Humane Society. Other shelters and rescue groups are also helping."

Very windy this morning in Austin.

Rain has taken a temporary pause.

Garbage cans have to be put out tonight for pick-up tomorrow.

If this wind persists, I wonder if garbage will be all over the street in the morning.

Will you put yours out?  I recall my neighbor a couple of blocks down calling to say my missing lid had blown all the way down to her house.

I have put mine out.  Fingers crossed.

My late friend, Stanley Rubin, produced that one.

This afternoon, I approved for ACX the final audio version of my novel, JACKIE GOES TO DIXIE.

Fred Frees (Paul's son) did the read and he was terrific.

The book should be available for download in 10-14 days.

Audio versions of 4 of my one-person plays are still in production:

Carole LOMBARD
Spencer TRACY
Clark GABLE
Basil RATHBONE

I'm still looking for somebody to do Errol FLYNN.

Any suggestions?

Three, actually. (I had to get kolaches in West, Texas, after the bathroom break. It was all in the same place.)

It's actually fairly charming. The dancing is really good and it would all be considered insensitive or politically incorrect these days.
