DR Amy I am surprised WAIT UNTIL DARK is not on your list as it fits your criteria of self-reliant and smart women.

Most excellent vibes and xylophones for a few miracles and for that cloven hoof to get the HELL off of Bruce's doorstep.

I hate movies in which men or women suddenly become stupid and helpless and can't act for themselves.

DR Elmore, when is your kitten coming home?

I don't have one yet.  I'm currently cat-proofing the apartment.  All this cleaning and weeding I'm doing is to make room for one - or two! - and clean up any residue of the termite poisons from 2008 that might be under bookcases or back in crevices where a kitty might be curious.

I do check the shelter sites and Craig's List daily and fall in love over and over.  Here are my current loves.

I don't think I'll be ready to bring one home for another week.

Thursday afternoon greetings!  Rebecca and I had a nice visit at Starbucks today.  Did a couple of errands and came home for a late lunch.

Awww. They are so cute. You like stripes. I've had about everything except a Siamese and a calico.

I had a Siamese from 1962-1977 or 78 and adored her.  My grandmother's house where I lived until I was four had several Persian cats.  We had a calico before the Siamese.  Last week I wanted a black kitten, Midnight.

The Bed-Stuy shelter in Brooklyn has a little grey runt, Petunia, that I just adore.  She's just learned to eat soft food, but they fear she's not going to grow and thrive.

Could well be. I love B movies, but that one sounded beyond my tolerance.

I am also partial to striped cats.  I especially like when they have the white liner around their eyes like the top kitty has.

Had a chili, cheese, and onion hot dog and a few fries.  Have just put in licensing requests with Sony/BMG for several soundtracks as well as two classical CDs.  I would also love to license the original Gold and Fizdale recording of Brubeck's Points on Jazz - one of my childhood loves - but it's short and I have no idea what to pair with it - way back in the Bay Cities days I was going to pair it with Howard Brubeck's Dialogues for Jazz Orchestra, but that's come out on CD already and most have it.  So, I'd need something else, perhaps another ballet of some sort.

My therapist, Erik, worked on me yesterday and almost every place he touched was tender. Ugh! I've been sore today as a result. Not sleeping well hasn't helped.

So Larry is cleaning for the kitties. I was about to ask what prompted the clear-out, but it makes sense. Larry is a conscientious soon-to-be pet owner.
