And welcome back to our DR vixmom.

Honestly, with all that's been going on, it seems like three weeks since the hurricane and vixmom's departure.

Today would have been the 64th birthday of the late John McGlinn.  Take a moment, if you can today, and listen to one of his recordings.

I've been on a nice Lerner and Loewe kick lately, which hasn't yet included BRIGADOON, so that shall be the one.

I think his recording is exceptionally lovely.

Larry -

Maybe it's because you mentioned john McGlinn's birthday and someone got confused, leading to more birthday wishes.

Or did someone overseas mention your birthday early, possibly?

Nope.  Most of my friends outside the USA live in Europe.  It will not be midnight in London until it's 6:00PM tonight.  I have no idea where friends in Australia or New Zealand are in time zones!

Monday morning greetings!  I've been to Kroger to speak to a pharmacist about the refilled prescription I picked up at the drive-up window last Thursday (broken toe, you know...).  Yesterday I took the last of my beta blocker (little blue pills) and this morning opened the refill to find slightly larger yellow pills.  Having absolutely no confidence that they were the right thing, I skipped that dose until the pharmacist confirmed that they'd changed manufacturers and, yes, it is the same thing.  I've put Richard and Rob on alert, just in case I have an adverse reaction.

Is there any info on the net that the different-looking pills have the same function?

DR Ginny when our prescriptions look different the pharmacy mentions it when we pick them up.  There are also medication identifiers you can find online that will show you what the pills look like.

I don't always remember to double check my pills before I take them away, usually that is when I drive up to the window as you did.  I do check them before I put them away.  I suspect you will do so from now on-lol  I am glad they were the correct prescription.

I also checked all scripts for my pets as they can be wrong, and have been, just as easily.

There are lots of sites such as this that identify pills.

Yeah, DR Jane, I thought they could have done that, too...

I just told the Rx story to Paramedic Rob and he said some pharmacies provide an alert by way of a sticker when the appearance of a med changes.  He said the medical staff at the jail deals with this issue frequently.

Did you have a sticker on yours?  I have also seen that, along with my verbal warning.  It never hurts to double check on line.

DR Ginny, to get a feel for out it works, did you try the online site to see if the pill matched correctly?

I have also used similar sites after finding pills on the floor of hotel rooms.  It is scary when your pets are with you and what if they had found a pill and eaten it.

If there had been a sticker, I wouldn't have had to go talk to the pharmacist this morning.

At first, I thought it didn't work very well.  Then I discovered I had misspelled the name of the drug.

There's a LOT of advertising on that site...

True, but you might not have noticed it.  Some of my meds have a few warning stickers so I don't pay much attention to them any more ;D

It was just the first sample I found.  Googling the code number, and the name if needed or have, should take you directly to a photo of the pill.

The rumors of DR ELMORE's birthday are greatly exaggerated - for now.

I've been to the bank in an emergency deposit.  Most of my day has been tied up in housecleaning.  I've packed 3 cartons for Miami U library today.  There's still too much crap to find room for and at the moment I really really really miss Toyland!

Waiting on Val.  I want to see if he can help me with a few things in the apartment and, if so, when he has the time.
