Lunch was a happy thing. Excellent Italian. Baked ziti with ham, peas and mushrooms in a tomato cream sauce followed by chicken thighs in Gorgonzola cream. And a nice bottle of wine. I am on vacation.

Since only DR ChasSmith has seen the current deconstruction of my apartment, I'm sure only he can fully comprehend all that I've done in two days.  The CD case that's getting dumped is emptied, and I have set aside a piles of CDs for Joshie, City Center office, and the library.  I've also redistributed every CD I'm keeping and I've vacuumed and dusted everything,  Tomorrow, when I return from my podiatrist's appointment, I'll cart the CD shelf to the basement and hopefully move one of my 4-drawer filing cabinets back into that corner.

I hope there will be after photos.

My next task is to weed out my DVDs.  I want to get rid of one of the filing cabinets.  My goal is to be finished by Friday.  I'm going cat hunting.

What did you do troublemaker DR JANE?

A friend put up a somewhat political rant yelling at people.  I didn't disagree with her.  All I said was " I really wish you had stated this without shouting and swearing".  Suddenly I was this horrible racist person for not agreeing with her, and on it went

A couple of my fb friends defended me, including the person who's page it is.  Funny, as I have almost dropped her in the past for yelling at other friends on their posts and here I was getting bashed for trying to censor her.  I could have worded it better but I am tired of her yelling at people-lol   

It was all rather funny.  Of course I was right, her attack provoked people with different opinions to get angry instead of discussing it calmly.  OK, so I checked thing out and the nasties have left and the conversation is a proper discussion

We met a friend in Portland for lunch today.
First the friend ordered with changes to her meal to adjust for her diet issues.
Then I ordered with changes for my meal, along with Keith having to explain what I misheard to get my order correct.
We now have had two complicated orders.
Keith then requested a salad without lettuce. 
The waitress loved it and gave him a high-five.  I was laughing while our friend looked a bit confused about what happened

And a question for vixmom, for whenever she has a moment:

You mentioned vixdad watching the Russian car crash videos.  These would be the dashcam ones on YouTube?  I don't remember what started it, but a few months ago a couple of those popped up in the "recommended for you" bucket.  I watched some, and I agree they're almost mesmerizing.  Saw a bunch of them over a couple of weeks and finally grew tired of it, then I went to a lot of effort to tell YouTube "not interested" until they mostly disappeared...because I wanted to have SOME other subjects of interest presented to me! 

But it's the most bizarre thing.  First of all, it seems all Russian vehicles have dashcams as standard equipment, and relatively few cars elsewhere have them because it's a voluntary accessory.  So that's why most of these videos are from there.  But it's also apparent that they NEED them there.  The whole driving experience looks like something from a different planet.  They can't possibly be receiving any real training.

Yes those are exactly the ones....they all seem to be driving drunk on bald tires on icy roads ..and their favorite thing seems to be pulling to the far right and then suddenly and inexplictently turning left into oncoming traffic...  Since they also record sounds we are pretty sure we know how one says s*** in Russian   


These days when someone does something stupid in traffic we shout "Russian" rather than refer to them as a vital yet unseemly body part as was our wont

Tuesday morning greetings!  I should be getting ready for a noon book discussion at the library where my career began, but I had a nosebleed instead.  Oh, well, there's lots of desk work to be done here at home...

Today I not only have things of my own to get done, I'll also be helping to clean the house for the housecleaners.

And that is no joke, as DR Run Pulliam is soon to find out.   

If someone were to threaten to send house cleaners to us I'd have to burn the house down in self defense

I used to like to watch YouTube videos of folks putting cement blocks into old washers......after a short time.....the washers began to fall apart in amazing ways....

For some reason, it was interesting to see....
