Wednesday morning greetings!  It's another puttering day for me, until Richard and I leave for a potluck dinner at the church in Dayton and an All Saints' service.

DR Ginny, thanks for alerting me to Bill Landen's passing.  I cannot believe that we knew each other, just like Richard and me, for nearly 60 years.

DR Elmore, I'm sure there will be more "official" notices about Bill, but the news broke on Facebook courtesy of his niece.  Here is one of my favorite photos from the "Look Homeward, Angel" you directed, with Bill playing the doctor attending Ben's death:

The Orange Baboon is on the air.  You'd think at this point the ass would have a better grasp of reading from a teleprompter and speaking to the camera.  Oh, I forgot: he's a very intelligent person and you can teach this fool nothing.

Well, I guess George is still hiding out at his sister's house.  I guess I might as well go to bed.

I came home at about 9:30 or so, but had to do some stuff on my old computer which can no longer access the Interwebs.  When I came upstairs to work on my new computer, I had to pay my property taxes (literally filed at 11:59 pm!),

Wow, you really did put that off until the last  minute.

Yup...it's a curse. ::)

Yes.  At the moment I tried it and it happened, it only persisted for a minute or so.

Elmore, perhaps Annabelle would do better with Selections from On a Clear Day ... or Carmelita.

I was walking back from town after doing an errand.  This morning might be the last of the sunshine for awhile.

I've got theirs ... on laserdisc!

Never picked up the DVD when it was in print.  I do have it on Blu-ray, from .....?  Somewhere.  British or French release, I forget.

She wanted to be in this new production at City Center, but Rob refused to let her audition.  I keep telling her that it's not because he dislikes cats, it's that she's only a year old.

The faux Faulkner winner has been announced and, yes, it was funny.

http://articles.latimes.com/2004/jul/25/books/bk-sheffield25

But even better is the author’s use of two beautiful words in the same sentence: “an effluvia of ... obduracy.”  The way that rolls around on the tongue.

Has anybody seen Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird? I guess Merrily We Roll Along plays a role in the structure of the film.

DR ELMORE that sounds exactly like a cat/spirit encounter......cats are particularly attuned to such things - and are very interested in spirits although they are somewhat confused by them....  The next encounters will probably be more lively until they settle down to bird/prey situations....and then an uneasy truce between the two....  Spirits seek cats - because they are easy to communicate with....

She's spent a lot of time today talking to me and being underfoot.  I just took a hot bath, and she sat on the edge of the tub while I was in it.  I don't know if this has to do with my being out the past two days or the apartment ghost.

Her new favorite sleeping place during the day is this small Amazon carton next to her cat tree, which used to be her favorite sleeping spot.
Around 10 or so, while I'm reading in bed, she'll crawl in with me.

DR elmore many of my cats like to keep me company while I took a bath.  One even walked the edge of the tub when I showered.
