Are you allowed to sleep at night?

Only if I'm not resting. :)

I am home.  I had t check the building's foundations, then feed Annabelle and Thatch, and now I'm waiting for a delivery of Chinese food.

My dance instructor just delivered Chinese food for tonight and tomorrow's lunch.

I started watching a film of Samson and Delilah with Diana Rigg, Michael Gambon, Dennis Hopper and too many others. Nicholas Roeg is directing. It's not great and not bad. It leaves the biblical story far too much. I guess it was a mini-series. Why else would it be three hours long?

So, here's tonight's Thatch report:
He gobbled his food like a starving child.  When I went into the bathroom to get his plat, he was crouching in the litter box and hissing at me.  When I returned with the food, he ate some of it from my hand and licked my fingers.  Then he got scared and jumped back in the litter box to crouch and hiss.  I gave him some more food, sat on the toilet seat cover, and while he ate, I stroked his back and spoke very gently to him about how much Anabelle and I want him to be her little brother.

Then he started circling me, rubbing against my pants, and purring while I stroked his back and neck. I won't try to pick him up because I fear he'll panic again and we'll lose the good mood.

The first doctor is practicing tough love. She wants me to work through the pain with plenty of exercise. Resting is not good. So, tomorrow I start to walk.

I like this approach.

DR John our friends ate at the Southerleigh Fine Food and Brewery.  I don't drink beer and I have no idea what I would eat there but it is a cool looking place.

Well, I'm off.  A couple friends who live in the same condo complex are having a "Falloween" party (whatever that means), and they're going to show "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in preparation for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," which opens next month!  I'm sure that we'll be out late.

I'll be back...later!

Home now.

Definitely progress!

Just keep it s-l-o-w, and you're right not to push him now in being picked up.  He'll get there.  I can't wait to meet him!

Yes. It's Texas coastal food and beer brewed on the premises. I enjoy it. Jeff is a good chef, and they make you feel at home, even in a rather massive space. I had never thought of this, but the next chef over, in the Boiler House, is also named Jeff.

The last half hour of this Samson and Delilah is even bloodier in its fiction than the original story.

I took a TON of photographic evidence at the orchestra rehearsal and the sitzprobe today.

It's funny, I never plan on grabbing more than a few shots, and indeed my reason for being there is to concentrate on the music (which I do, don't worry about that).  But I really got going today.

I'm too beat now to transfer them and see what I've got.  I'll do it tomorrow, and post a couple of good ones.

Our friends looked like they were having a good time.  Tomorrow they are going to Fredericksburg.  Keith suggested they stop in Luckenbach on the way.

Nice. Should be a cool day. Rain's not coming until Sunday.

Watching Pennebaker's documentary on Jimi Hendrix at Monterey.

Great music. Thrilling performance.

Anxious to see the photographic evidence of DR CHAS SMITH.

WELL.....after 37 years.......there is no way I could not go to the viewing for my friend Jim.  My sister Paula went with me so I wouldn't be driving alone.
It was nice to see many friends there....and to share a few minutes with Miss Emily, Jim's wife.....I am 100% happy that I went...though it did take much effort.  I am BEAT right now and will certainly sleep well tonight.

In a way, Pennebaker's move about Otis Redding at Monterey was even better because it was more of a surprise. Just an astounding performer. His take on Try a Little Tenderness is just wonderful.

TOD:

Carols for a Cure 2017 has arrived. Time to start playing the Christmas music. (I guess it's an antidote to Jimi and Otis.)

I started another movie, The Girl Can't Help It, with Jayne Mansfield and a slew of early rock stars and singers, including Little Richard, Fats Domino, Abbey Lincoln and the Platters.
