I've been trying to find a vet for them.  Manhattan Cat Specialists, which is six blocks from me, had an ad on Facebook for $50 off the first visit.  So, I asked for an appointment, got a confirmation that they gad my application and requested dates, and I've never heard from them again.

I think Annabelle might have a cold and need a checkup, so I will call City Vet on 72nd St today and see if I can take her in ASAP.

I hadn't thought about this in a long time, but when I had my two girls who were about 12 years old at the time, and we brought little 8-week-old Poe into the house, they each got flu-like reactions a couple of times until everyone had adapted to each other's bacteria or whatever.  This will happen in spite of the fact that the new kitten has been checked out in advance by a vet.  But of course it's good to have her checked.

T.O.D.

Once again, nothing.

I'm beginning to think I've lost interest in watching new movies.  I don't go to theaters any longer.  I don't think I've rented more than 2 or 3 DVDs this year.  There's just nothing out there I care to see.

I watch certain shows on TV (e.g. those produced by Dick Wolfe), and occasionally an old movie in my large DVD library, but I really have no interest in anything recent.

Is it me, or are they just not making good movies any longer?

This started happening two nights ago, and at first I was concerned that some adware or malware had gotten in.  See those little "phantom scrollbars" on each post?  They were just suddenly there, and they've stayed there since -- but only when using Chrome (on Win7).  They're not there in Firefox, or in Safari on the iPad.  A Google search produces almost nothing, except I found one person saying it had something to do with one's wireless mouse software (maybe).  But still, it's only on Chrome.  The little scrollbars are nonfunctioning, even in longer posts (their size doesn't even relate to the size of the post), and my Malwarebytes, etc., are all working and up to date.  They always appear on the left side of the post, but you can sometimes see a tiny one on the right as well, as in DR Elmore's post.  Weird, eh?  You can click on this to see it better.

I’d rather watch — or rewatch — an old favorite than a superhero movie or something of that ilk.

I picked up a copy of Wild Strawberries last night. Haven’t seen it since I was in high school, but it’s been a treasured film of my past. May hold off watching it until the recuperating begins. It’s slow and I think I will be, too.

I have never seen those scrollbars here before.....but when something like that happens to me - it is always the browser.....always.....

Sometimes random words turn blue and become links - in FireFox - restarting the computer usually gets rid of the problem.

Good.  As a back up you might ask for neighbor cat lady who she uses.

Friday morning greetings!  I slept late (for me) today and had to rush to get to my 10am hair appointment.  Home now doing a major desk chore before heading out with Richard to do errands that will include lunch with niece Rev. Amy and her 5-year-old Rachel.

Little Thatch is so adorable today.  Every time Annabelle gets in his vicinity, he sticks his paws through the cage trying to pet her and get her attention.

She's most definitely feeling puny.  She's not eating and I cannot get her to play.  I will see if I can get her into the vet tomorrow.

Oh no.  Well, if it's the type of transmitted bug I posted about, I can tell you that what put my girls back on their feet was fluids administered by the vet and I believe an overnight stay for observation, at least the first time it happened.  I don't recall if he gave any other kind of medication, but I think they had low fevers and the re-hydration did the trick.  Also (sorry, this was 15 years ago), they each came down with "it" a couple of times before getting past it!!

Yes, the appetite went, and they acted like they had sore throats.  It was a little more than just a cold where they sneeze for a couple of days.

Feel better vibes for Annabelle!

Fluids can be expensive, so if you can get her to drink some tuna water, that would be good. It's hard, though, when they are not feeling well.

We have done that or poured the tuna water over the food to encouraging them to eat it.
