Giving her her eye drops is going to be trickier than I thought.  I can't begin the Clavamox until she eats and, while she's probably starving at this point, she will eat nothing she cannot smell.

Easier to do with baby food, put some on your finger and slip it on the roof of her mouth using her front teeth to scrape it off.  If she won't hold still tuck her backside into you to keep her still.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  Fr. Richard substituted at Dayton’s Christ the King today, so I went with him.  About 20 minutes before the service was to start I developed an epic nosebleed and sat in the church parlor for the duration.  With attention from one of the ladies, a box of tissues, and some ice from the kitchen, things finally calmed down before the service ended.  We stopped for a burger on the way home and now I’m ready for a nap.

A nose bleed like that must be exhausting.

No-nose-bleed vibes for Ginny. Hope all is OK.

Thanks, DR John G!  I’ve decided it’s time for a talk with my cardiologist about the low dose aspirin I’m taking every other day.

Can you reduce your blood clotting medication?

But I read an article a couple of years ago where this small study showed that taking aspirin (in any dose...low to full sized) didn't seem to help prevent heart attacks.  They didn't specify in the article, but they implied that if you've had a heart attack, it's a good thing to take the aspirin.  It just didn't seem necessary if you hadn't.  They admitted that it was a very small study and more research was needed.  I haven't had one, but I haven't stopped taking them, either (I'll wait till my doctor tells me to stop).

I carry aspirin in my purse, just in case.  Of course it can only help if I have my purse with me and remember to take one.

I drove over to Dollar Tree, which was mobbed. On the way home I stopped at Ralph's supermarket, which wasn't busy at all. The weekend before T-day? I've never seen that store crowded. Trader Joe's will be insane, which is why I'm not going there.

Chas, do you have a shopping report for us?

Elmore when I had to give my Bandit meds or eye drops I would wrap him in a towel first.  I'd put the towel on my lap and Pet him until he was relaxed then I would gently wrap him (sort of like swaddling a baby ). Also I found if I gave him a pill I would have to hold his mouth shut and stroke his throat until he swallowed.  Keep stroking until the second swallow.  They're tricksy

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, Elmore, but your cats are smarter than you are. Just accept it.

I already know that.  So how the hell do I give them their medicine?

I can't get to WalMart until Tuesday because I have my PET Scan tomorrow.....we shall see how crowded it is......

Because I am retired, I can go at OFF times when normal folks are working.

Grant came by and hung lots of pictures - still lots to do (next stop, the den), but the living room and bedroom and hall are pretty much done.

I went to Jerry's Deli for the first time in a week - Philly cheesesteak and a tiny side Caesar salad.  Then Leslie Young and her two daughters came to the restaurant and ate, then they came here to see the new house and loved it.

Funny about Like a Man - that was a number I was really worried about in this day and age and climate because the world is seemingly filled with such humorless and easily offended ninnies.  The number is very funny and catchy but, how shall we say, very old-fashioned in its Chinese parlance. When I first heard it I said to our MD that we should take some of the cliche Chinese food accompaniment out of it, and then I said we should leave it as it is because that's what it is.  And it gets a great reaction so when one is off the outraged world of Facebook twits, it shows you that people actually can and will understand context.
I didn't find anything offensive about "Like a Man" because it's just about the physicality of being a man - take long strides, swing your arms, and put your thumbs in your pants. Big deal. If the lyrics said to be a man by making your wife subservient, that would be a whole 'nother story.

Jumping for joy!

It's such a relief.  It was a total surprise.  I put some of the food on my finger and stuck it in her mouth against her will.  Then I offered her a pinkie covered in baby food and she licked it off my finger.  After that, I gave her the bowl and she ate it all!

I hope this continues as well tomorrow.  I've got her in the steam room at the moment/
