You'd think Annabelle's basement adventure would have curbed her curiosity, but no way.  I took the dirty litter to the garbage chute and as soon as I opened the door to return to the apartment, she darted out and ran for the stairs.  Instead of going up this time, she went down, so I ran for the elevator and rode to two.  No sign of her.  I rode to the first floor.  No sign, but I could hear her loudly crying down the stairwell.  I got back on the elevator and rode to the third floor.  There she was, waiting for the elevator.

I haven't had breakfast yet between these two critters and their meds, and I'm thinking of skipping the food and going right for the booze.

Thursday morning greetings!  This is the first of 4 days without commitments and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.  At some point, there will be a trip to the grocery, but no appointments or social events except for my book group meeting at Marianne's tonight.

One of the Brooklyn cat rescuers is offering Christmas kittens.  I've promised several friends I will adopt no more, but I find it difficult to not want another!

I’m in my house. I have to get a new lock. Locksmith cost close to $100 for about two minutes’ work.

The babies are napping. I am in need of a nap, but I'm waiting for Val to show up.  One of the pictures he hanged for me has fallen and I'd like him to rehang it.

And net neutrality is dead.  One more nail in the coffin of the Republican party.  All I can hope for is that their lousy tax plan goes down in flames just as the supporters of the bill will go down in the next election.

I hope all the Trump voters are happy.

Kittens in December will be adopted, Elmore. Many years ago I had a little orange kitten that I found in my yard. I talked the foster coordinator at a shelter to accept her in the adoption program. I took her in on Christmas Eve and checked back later in the day. She had been adopted 15 minutes after they opened.

I had seen this story without the happy news update.

Maybe Annabelle could get use to a harness with a leash  and go for walks with you.

On Christmas day we shall board the Rovos, Pride of Africa train in Cape Town and begin a 2 night scenic ride to Pretoria--about a 1000 mile journey.

Showoff.

In a few minutes, I am going with my sister to the hospital to sit while my brother has hernia surgery.  It shouldn't be too long or too exciting.....I HOPE.

Vibes for DC Neve.

Thanks, Jrand!  I didn't try to apply the ointment this morning.  I was running late so I'll attempt again tonight.  Fortunately, the doctor said that once a day is good enough, but twice is better.  HOPEFULLY, I'll be able to get it done at least once a day!

The day started off with a bang here as well.

First, we get a highly irritating inch of snow during the night, which was just plowed as well as it can be but we're hoping the bright sun will help to burn off the rest.

I also found out our ailing bassist, for whom we already wrangled a couple of subs for this weekend, is ailing a little more and a little differently than originally thought.  What was diagnosed as bronchitis last week turns out to be congestive heart failure!  He's in the hospital and they've got it under control, but he's out for the remainder of the run.  So we're still hustling for bass players.

Next...

Wait, there isn't a NEXT yet.  And I hope there won't be.  That much is already irritating enough.

~~~Quick Recovery Vibes for the (former) Bassist!!~~~
And good luck in finding a replacement!!
